Appears a neighbor freaked out and called the police on this guy.  Based simply on someone being uncomfortable, police arrested this man and seized his gun.  Fortunately, the judge had some sense in the case.

How odd. It seems weird they'd even bother to send a car over.

They should have told them to calm down, the man planting the tree is within his constitutional rights.  In the more liberal areas, people freak out when they see a firearm.  Eeeek, a gun!

That USP yours Stingray?

“There’s no requirement to justify why you’re able to exercise constitutional rights,” Krause said. “I and everyone else are able to go to church, they’re able to vote, they’re able to speak their mind. Even though the city might not like it, we have that right.”
NOW THERE IS SOME COMMON SENSE!  It's about time states like WI and Illinois acknowledge this with regards to firearms...I just wish we had the 2nd incorporated via the 14th in a SCOTUS case.

Dunno, he hasn't said.

Looks like the one I had, though mine was 9mm.  Had to sell it when I needed some funds a couple years back.   Oh well, I'll have that or a Springfield XD in the future.

Nope.. ready?

Yankee Hill Phantom 2 flash hider
Magpul MOE handguards
Magpul MIAD grip
Magpul Enhanced trigger guard
Magpul CTR buttstock
Blackhawk Single Point Sling adapter, with Blackhawk Single Point sling
EO Tech 517 Holosight
Hendsolt 2.5x magnifier in a...
LaRue LT-649 30mm flip mount
Streamlight TLR-1 LED weaponlight.

...it is a work in progress.

I need to replace the Blackhawk SPS adapter with a Magpul ASP plate, and the Blackhawk sling with a Magpul MS2 adaptable single point sling.  Also going to replace the CTR buttstock with a Magpul ACS buttstock, which will be able to hold spare batteries.  AND, I am waiting for my Magpul MBUS (Magpul Back Up Sights) to arrive later this month.

Once I get this baby done, I can start working on my Remington 870.

I can't totally blame the guy who called him if he lived in a more 'liberal' part of Wisconsin. I was completely unaware that Virginia allows open carry until I read about it online. Thing is, the area near DC (Northern Virginia) is very very liberal compared to the rest of Virginia and as such it is rare to see a gun about in the open. Someone may live in a place like Alexandria, VA his whole life and not know that open carry is legal. Whereas in more western Virginia, it's not considered odd to have a gun holstered on you.

Also, all that said, now I wanna move to Virginia and carry a pistol on my side at all times.

Okay, this guy carried a gun in his own back yard, yet the other guy gets offended in seeing the gun owner. What is the difference if the gun is in the house or in the back yard?

That's lovely. Explain the dual scope thing though? One is just a regular red dot and the other magnifies it? Can you not get a single unit that does it all in one? If you don't mind me asking, how much money have you put into that gun?

Seeing a gun roaming free in it's natural habitat is too much for a liberal to handle.

There, does that help?  I refuse to add it all up, in an effort to remain in denial about my "$800" rifle.  As to the optic issue, the EO Tech is a close range sight, very good for fast aquisition of target and close range fire, up to 150 - 200 meters or so.  Adding the magnifier allows target identification and accurate targeting at longer ranges.  I can flip the magnifier to the side when it is not needed, and just pull it in line with the primary optic (my EO Tech) when I need the magnification.  Yes, there are varialbe power scopes (usually 1-4x) that can work as both a close range optic and low power scope.  The problem is in the 1x, close range use, but is usually pretty minor.  The other issues are size, weight, and cost.  It is a VERY long and drawn out topic.  There are many discussions about this on a few other forums.

why would you need a gun to plant a tree? would get in the way tbh.  i would have set it on the ground first.

First, he has no need to explain why he would wear a pistol to plant a tree.  He was fully within the law.  Second, that is the great thing about freedom, not needing to explain yourself.  And third, it is not always a matter of need.  Need?  Why do you need cable television?  Why do we need a 42" flat screeen LCD TV?  Does anyone need to explain to anyone else (other than their spouse) why they have a boat?

The guy probably just keeps it in his holster at all times (well, maybe not in the shower and in bed but you get the idea). Because it's legal.

You can't carry a concealed gun in public in Wisconsin and Illinois even with a permit. This guy however did it in his private property, which it wasn't illegal. He probably did some promotion act against gun control. He could of used it for protection if he needed it even if it is a small probability of getting attacked. Or lol...He could have planned this to piss the neighbors off and get in the news to show how ridiculous the law is and the people supporting it.
