With MW2 coming out that's a pretty bold statement to make. That being said, I hope it's true."When Battlefield: Bad Company 2 ships in March, it will deliver the best online multiplayer experience ever," Karl Magnus Troedsson, Battlefield's executive producer announced today. We'll know soonish.

I forgot about this!
Also, it'd better be the best!

Need a fucking awesome computer.
The irony of guns, is that they can save lives.
It's gonna be out on PC ?
Yep. March 2nd, although the PC version may be delayed like 1943. (Of course, I haven't been following everything on BC2, since BF3's confirmed and all :p.)Andoura wrote:

That trailer was awesome. Good to see a trailer from a non-American point of view for once too. Although they wussed out by showing that it was all just supposed to be a good Multiplayer fight with the Russians eventually about to get bombed from an aerial strike right at the end. But still, an entertaining trailer.
Also it's like, the first time blood will properly be in a BF game I think. Looks like they've thrown out all the silliness from BF:BC and made this game abit more serious.
Oh yeah for those who ain't played BF:BC, that light thing the scout fired is a sort of homing beacon. It shows the enemy unit on the minimap and also makes your teams rockets sort of home in onto the target (cos the rockets in BF:BC were dumb fire unlike the wire guided ATGM's of BF2)

Battlefield Clip from EA Press Conference
If you missed the EA press conference stream you can check it out the Battlefield part below. The quality isn't that great and it has some lag and graphical glitches, but it's still somewhat watchable.

do you work for EA?
Just saw that trailer on gametrailers. Looks amazing, at the same time I hate when they coordinate these trailers to looks so cool, yet actual gameplay is much more frantic never that well executed. Still can't wait to play this game. Is the release Sep 30 or Mar15 like they mentioned in the last video?
Mars 2 for USA and Mars 5 for Europe not sure about the other countries, But why do USA get it first when it was a Swedish company who made it =/
GC 2009: EA Booth Pictures
Kotaku posted up some pictures of EA's booth at Gamescom. You can checkout the Bad Company 2 section below. The BC2 area seems to be enclosed possibly because footage is still not allowed, although the game is still ~7 months out leaving plenty of time for new media to be released.

I can honestly say that the game looks extremely good and I almost want to pre-order it! But knowing DICE, they will probably screw it up somewhere along the line so I think I won't.
IGN BF: Bad Company 2 Preview Announces Upcoming Beta
IGN posted a preview of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 from Gamescom and have revealed that a beta is planned.
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Squad elements have been substantially improved since the original Bad Company. Players can now spawn next to their four-person teams and use special push-to-speak controls to send commands to specific members of the fire team. There were also be unique achievements and rewards for team play. Best of all, the game has done away with the global spotting system, so now you'll have to spot each enemy individually and even get close enough to see whether or not they're a friendly or an enemy. The final two of the game's four total modes will also rely heavily on squads but DICE didn't reveal more details.
In terms of destruction, Bad Company 2 is miles beyond what we've already seen. The tactical advantages of cover are much less certain now as tanks, grenades and even rifle fire can tear through objects in the game world. The upside is that blowing up walls and buildings can help players create their own fire points and open up new lines of sight. The potential for this to completely change each battle is huge, and we're hoping it doesn't just all end up with players climbing over endless fields of rubble by the end.
Fans of the game can try it out on the show floor or wait until the upcoming beta is launched, which was announced during our demo. Read the rest...

GC 2009: G4TV Interviews Karl-Magnus Troedsson
G4TV interviewed Battlefield executive producer, Karl-Magnus Troedsson talking about none other than BF: Bad Comany 2.

Executive producer Karl-Magnus Troedsson talks about Battlefield: Bad Company 2 in this GamesCom 2009 interview. He discusses the game's different vehicles, the awesome destruction, engine improvements, the crazy stat counting, gameplay specialization, game modes, and more. He said:
"There are a lot of different things when it comes to the squad play and team play that we're bringing in -- like context-sensitive orders and these kinds of things. We really want to encourage people to play together as a squad."
Check out the interview and let me know what you think about the game. Also, I have a sneaking suspicion that Troedsson is the descendant of a certain Nordic god. Agree? Disagree?G4TV

Main reason was for the wall around it was because kids under 18 were not allowed to see it. Had the chance to play Bad Company 2 for about 30 minutes. Even though I had to get used to the x-box controller, it was a lot of fun.HaiBai wrote:

It looks good, and it feels good. Terrain destruction is implemented very well. Structures can be destroyed, but still provide cover, even against tanks (for a limited time though). Vehicles seem to be very balanced and none is too strong (Saw tanks, APCs and attack choppers). Same applies to the character classes.
My impression is that Bad Company 2 is on a very good way.

GamesCom Wrap Up
DICE posted a bunch of new pictures on the Battlefield blog showing both the inside and outside of the Bad Company 2 booth at Gamescom. They even had a real Bad Company 2 themed helicopter!
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
GamesCom is over and our DICErs are all back at DICE, but we have some fantastic photos to share with you.
With 245k attendees at GamesCom, the BC2 booth was flooded with fans waiting to get the first hands-on experience of BC2 multiplayer action. Each lucky group was briefed and orgainzed into 4-man squads. Then 3 squads would get a bit of practice in an empty map before moving on to match their skills against our QA in a 12v12 attackers vs. defenders MP map! When the match was over, they were rewarded a BC2 T-shirt!
Other fun activities included doing a few competitive exercises for a ride in the BC2 helicopter.
Our own Patrick Söderlund and KM spent their time presenting BC2 to the press, while Patrick Bach presided over hands-on demonstrations.
And finally, a big thank you to all our fans who came to GamesCom and waited in the long lines to try out BC2!
