A New York fifth-grader said he was rewarded with $100 after he turned in a wallet containing $500 that he discovered on his way to school.

Kemoy Gourzang, 10, said he found the cash-packed brown leather wallet Friday morning while walking to Public School 198 in the city's Brooklyn borough, the New York Daily News reported Tuesday.

Gourzang said he took the wallet straight to the office of the school principal, Joy-Ann Morgan, who used a business card inside the wallet to track down the owner, who asked not to be identified.

"Five kids told me, 'You should have kept it,'" Gourzang said. "I said, 'No, because if it was yours, you would have wanted it back.'"

The boy said he was shocked by the amount of the $100 reward given to him by the wallet's grateful owner.

"I was pretty excited," he said. "I went straight to Toys 'R' Us."

The fifth-grader's mother, Avolyn Jones, 40, said she is proud of her son's honesty.

"I'm proud. I always told him, 'Honesty is the best policy,'" she said. "I'm glad Kemoy found it because maybe if someone else found it, it would not be returned."

I would've kept it without even thinking twice.

"Five kids told me, 'You should have kept it,'" Gourzang said. "I said, 'No, because if it was yours, you would have wanted it back.'"
No, if it was mines. I'd be thinking "FUCK SAKE" and also "It's long gone, fuck it". Not "oh man, I wish someone would return it" - That thought would seriously not even be considered

$500 is alot. It puts it in the questionable region for me. If it had enough personal stuff like cards and ID's I would return it otherwise

That means about 2 video games, a comp upgrade, or some accessories for computer like stuff in my translation.
