Well maybe that's testimonial of how much money politicians make. They are supposed to be servants to the people, not the other way around. Perhaps that is why most senators have no ambition to become the president, its a fucking pay cut. There should be term limits for senators as well. I am glad Obama is trimming the fat off of DC.

Obama isn't really trimming the fat off of anything.  His plan of government expansion is quite the opposite of what you suggest.  Term limits on Senators don't work, you lose too much institutional (committee) knowledge and experience.

You're never happy are you? Would you prefer it that he left their wages alone? Or increased them?

Actually, I am quite conservative and personally favor less government. However, it is hard to argue that both parties are corrupt and that bipartisan politics gets us nowhere. I did not vote for Obama but now that he is my president I will support him. As far as long term senators go, if they have so much knowledge then why can't they accomplish a whole lot? Too much time is spent bickering and finger pointing and it doesn't help when twat Pelosi is on a smear campaign against republicans. Great leadership, fucking money whores. Change hasnt come at all.

Seems a good start to his presidency but its hard to speculate on what he'll do when he's properly settled in and done or given up on his original points of interest.
President #44 (Obama) from President #43 (Bush).
This.

I was expecting some encouraging letter or something, but what he left is just better!

and heres the avg income of Fairfax and Loudon county... I live in Fairfax and i am bringing the avg down...lol

He didn't mean you'd be paid to live there.

Great news imo. If a proper courts and trial system can be developed you won't see cases dismissed due to torture claims and hopefully justice will then come about.

I know that, what I meant was that $100k wouldn't go very far over here.

I'm very happy.  I prefer he did nothing.  It was smoke and mirrors, all for show.

I was watching CNN one night and they were purposing a bill it was probably 10-12 years ago. The bill was about the economy and how to improve it, they denied dumping money into it at the time to keep the budget tight, then voted yes to a 3 or 6% increase on there wages.

I don't think it will really change anything. People are always gonna find a way to lobby.

I think the president makes around 154k a year or something like that, it's really not a crazy amount of money..

The amount is pretty low for one of the hardest jobs in the country.

Granted, most politicians make more in soft money than from any official salary.  I'd imagine Obama is the same.

Personally, I don't think presidents or senators need salaries at all, but I know that'll never become reality.
