child abuse.  what they did is abuse.
Exactly. As much as I'm against hitting children, this kind IMO is much worse abuse.

Are you serious? Do you think for one second what kind of parents would name their children like that?
We still have freedom of speech in this nation, including naming one's children.  I don't agree w/ the parents white supremacist views, but that doesn't mean I will automatically support their children being seized.  If it's found that the children were abused in the home or neglected, then I'm all for the government stepping in.  Would you like the government to yank your kids away if you name them something goofy and socially unacceptable?
Dude, naming your child Adolf Hitler=setting the child up for a lifetime of being bullied and probably ruining the life in general.

The parents are most likely well aware that naming him Adolf Hitler will result in him having one of the worst lives.

Naming your child after a famous actor/motorcycle is one minor thing that will hardly have an affect on someones life but naming them after a vicious dictator who killed millions of innocent people and hated world wide by most people will mess up a child's life.

In my 12 years in the public school system I can't remember anyone ever being bullied just because of their name. He could always change his name later in life.

But this whole situation is stupid. Poor choice of a name of the child by the parents. Stupid moral crusaders getting offended over a child's damn name and then choosing to go after his family by having him removed.

I really wish we all could just leave each other alone.

So I'm Swedish and an atheist but the thing Hitler did was downright evil. Most people will agree with me right away. Those who don't probably hate Jews and love Nazis.

But yes, if they kept it a secret it would probably be hidden for a bit longer. When the kids enter school or high school I'm betting my ass SOMEONE would take it up with the state. A name like that WILL cause a problem for the guy. Specially when the house is full of nazi symbols.

Funny thing you should bring that up.
Being in a Swedish school with a Finnish last name I and my twin brother got bullied for it. Because it sounded funny. It kept happening to like the 6-7 grade when the main guys stopped. Then some other just called us other names.  So weird names will get you bullied. The fact that they only went on the name hinted that it was due to the name. In the 8 to 9 grade they pretty much stopped and some of them said that they where sorry. The other just stopped. Since then they got kinda nice.
Being the guys we where we just took it and ignored them as much as possible.

But having Adolf Hitler would cause the guy to hear loads of bad jokes about him being the next Hitler. There would be no end to it. Teachers probably would think it would be a joke too at the first time. A bad one at that time to.

Btw there names you actually can't give to your kids. In Sweden there have been names that parents wanted to give their kids but the State I suppose or the authorities didn't agree with them. Mainly  because the name was downright wrong.
I'm sure there are names in USA that have been rejected when the state found out about it.

Also while I too want to know why the kid was taken away they stated that they can not give out information about it as it goes against the laws.

In the US we only reject names that would get bleeped on TV, but People need to use some common sense when naming their kids.  The term Adolf Hitler immediately brings to mind images of genocide and warfare, not exactly the first impression you want to make, and not a name anyone in the world would ever want to hire, if for nothing else than the negative branding issues of hiring Hitler.

I'm just glad that those parents won't have the oppourtunity to bring another generation of hate filled bigots into America, there is simply no place for racism in the 21st century.

The Swedish part was an attempt at saying because your so close to Germany and how the Germans waged war on everyone you have some type of biased against them totally. It was a stupid thing to say or try to pull. I admit that.

I really don't have any strong feelings either way for anything that happened during World War 2. It was a interesting period but that is it to me. Also before anyone says I hate Jews, my first girlfriend was Jewish and before anyone calls me a Nazi, I'm not even white.

Mind you there are many cultural differences between where you live and where he lives. I grew up in urban New Jersey nobody screwed with each other over names. Our schools were pretty diverse. Plenty of funny names. Nobody cared though.

In my high school people were pretty tolerant to others views on things even race.  By the time he gets of age to go to high school people will be even more tolerant of others.

Now the place he lives Holland Township, New Jersey is in west new jersey. Pretty Rural area. According to wikipedia the 2000 census said the place only had 5,124 people. Of the people there 98.09% are white. I know that was 9 years ago but I still think he won't have to worry about other races out for his blood. Especially since the other major races were not nearly wiped out by Nazi's.

What did I get wrong? Hitler killed millions by starting a war and not one picked up a sniper rifle and took a shot. Same with those wackos Stalin, Pol Pot, Mussolini, Sadam Hussein and a lot of others. That's how people die/nations go under/torture happend- because of mentally ill wackos who take power. Don't You agree? John Doe is a sheep most of the time. It's crazy IMO.

These parents didn't separate their children in a compound.  They just named their kid a really bad name.

I'll put it this way.  I really hope this kid was removed for something other than a name, because if not, this was a pretty dumb move.

I think it's already an unofficial given that parents who would subject a kid to such a name wouldn't be very supportive over the course of his life.

Wouldn't be suprised if the state cooks up some bullshit reason to remove the kids. It's their child they made it they can name it whatever they like. When you start doing things like this (punishing people for their views and thoughts using obscure laws) things could go pretty badly in the long run.
It's the kid's childhood; he can shoot his parents later is he likes.

Only after 'it's' born (but I won't get into abortion here...oops, just did).

More to the point, I think 'it' is more of an affectation brought about by people being too afraid to appear politically-incorrect by using 'he' or appearing to be too politically-correct by using 'she,' so it's a problem with contemporary English. In uev's case, it might be more of a lack of respect for child rights. I'd rather be called 'dickhead' if I was still a gradeschooler than tote around the onus of 'Adolf Hitler' all the time. That's just not fair.
