Iraqi seams to be stabilizing abit now, so the US must be doing something right atm. They can't just pull out en-mass. Its got to be fazed with the induction of better trained Iraqi force.
I agreed with the Afghan Mission. Am against the Iraqi mission. The USA shook the hornets nest in Iraqi and caused total break down of a functioning sociatity, be it a dictatorship or not (world is full of them). The US is responsible for the future of the Iraqi ppl.

Pull out of Afghanistan=proliferation of the Taliban and re-establishment of a Terrorist harbouring nation, which is a threat to world peace.
Quick Pull out of Iraqi=Civil war. Thousands of deaths. Re-establishment of a dictator. Majority of Iraqi's will return to their lives now their country is no longer occupied. The country is destroyed. It can not pose any threat to the west apart from harbouring terrorists.

Typical of Westerners, we think of ourselves.
Colonial imperialism, WW1, WW2 & Holocaust, British mandate in Palestine, Regime change, Oil & gas pipelines, Cold war with Russia.
All these factors have helped insure the ME could be nothing but chaotic. All the above is intervention in the ME by the west. Our country men helped create this mess, yet all we ever talk and think about is "is the west safe?" I d like to hear more ppl stand up admit that the Arab ppl are not prim-evil savages but victims of circumstance and mans lust for power.

Our country showed the ME the natural resource it had under its feet, we invented drilling it and then refining it for THEM to sell it. All things considered every citizen of the ME should be living like kings. The US has not stolen oil. We buy it. THe west is not responsible for the chaos in the ME, the leaders of the ME are responsible for not taking care of its citizens, they blame the oppression of their people on the US, hence the hatred. In fact the leaders of those countries are to blame. They have made life so terrible, that the people view death as better than life. They then have convinced its citizens it is the US's fault.

You're not looking (or thinking?) hard enough.  The west buys crude oil, refines it (oil refiners tend to be foreign BP, EXXON. Shell, Total etc all outside ME) and make products like...........oh i dont know:

So the west then sells teh above back to the dorks in the ME for 10X price of crude oil.  IMO the west has had to stick its cock into the ME to ensure it secures FUTURE oil supplies, because looking at that list there are a lot of essential products there.  So if they have to invade a country or two then so be it.
