Will the TimeSplitters series ever return?

I have heard so many rumors that Free Radical - Developers of TimeSplitters - Have shut down, but please God can this not be true. I have been waiting so long for TS4, and all the previous games, mainly TS3, have been my most favourite console Fpses of all time. On the Free Radical website, it has said nothing about shutting down.

Sources say that the company recently lost the development deal for the LucasArts project, something that could have led to this end of year shut down.

However:

Rob Yescombe, screenwriter for Free Radical, the Rare-spawned developer behind the TimeSplitters franchise and Haze, has told SPOnG that widespread reports of the studio's closure are not true.

Asked the question, "Is it true that Free Radical has shut its doors?", Yescombe responded, "Nope, not true." He declined to comment further on the situation at the developer, however.

I have thousands of memories...Listening to the soundtrack in TS2/TS3 (especially the soundtrack in the map: Chinese) brings back so many memories.

It's the most fun I've ever had with any console game.

PC vs console debate has no place in this thread. Take it somewhere else.

Timesplitters. Loved 2 no end. It was a perfect console shooter IMO. Fast paced and silly. TS3 was a big step in the wrong direction. A bunch of changes were made to slow it all down. It seemed as though they tried to take TS2 and make it more like Halo. Yuck. Didn't work at all.

If TS4 is ever made I hope they stick to the series' roots. Since EA own the IP (i think?) there's no doubt that another will be made. But its not likely that Free Radical will be making it by the sounds of things.

i absolutely loved it on the GC. Still probably one of the best MP experiences I've had on that console (Smash Bros and Mario Strikers beats it though tbh).
