Since it's around the holidays; Home Alone 1 and 2 and The Nightmare Before Christmas
The film that has surprised me most with its goodness recently was The Mist. I was expecting it to be shit (started off with a sort of low budget horror feel) and it really wasn't. I ended up really getting into it, loved the ending too.
