Thats exactly why Dragon Valley is my favourite map it's bright and cheerful, and a decent map as well if only there was less fog on all the maps- maybe they should bring that out in the new patch as everyones got up to date hardware now compared to when if first came out- I bet people take the piss for me saying that I think it's a good idea

I like DV but it has one issue, aircraft HUD's vanish against the sky. My comp seems to have taken a dive as well since I put Crysis on it so I can't play stuff as good as I once could. BF2 is hit and miss, get loads of jumpy lag fake crashes these days, which is weird considering my hardware is at the recommend and just above that of what BF2 origianally needed.

Yeah, and i find the sky in DV really really white I can't seem to see anything against it

Everyone finds the sky too white, thats why it doesnt bother me its not like im at a disadvantage, the only thing i dont like about it is that you need good teams for it to be fair a lot of the time I tell everyone to go straight for refinery at the start, all the way to the end, and hardly anyone does lol but i suppose i dont play in clan matches or any decent set up matches- is it even possible if i havent got a mic?

Its possible, but generally you have to be SL and take a bunch of guys to a flag. Usually I'll take my sqaud ton one that rarely gets attention early on. I've never used a mic ingame, never worked for some reason out of the three I got before but I've managed to pull it off a few times. Fog though serves another purpose, it smooths the distance out. Without it, you see the map to the full distance of your view that isn't the entire map length and so the background can appear in strange places within your max distance, to me, the maps aren't as pleasant without fog present

With regards to the parachute spawn and whether it would be possible in vanilla BF2, wouldnt it just be a simple case of moving the spawn point upwards..?

Far as I remember, it has to be set as a parachute spawn. I think.

Karkand, Dragon, and Sharqi are pretty damn foggy, and I don't think that ever stopped anyone...
They're fairly foggy (nothing like as foggy as Songua), but they're not bleak -- they're all quite bright.  Songua just feels dreary so I don't want to play it.

The map making kit is most likely in 2d ( like the rest of bf2 graphics) so you can't say this spawn point is in the air without saying it's a parachute spawn.

one thing though, it looks like there's too much fog but you're forgetting something.
the fact that they're playig on low detail, so it's assumed that the view distance is low.
i'm sure it's just the same as karkand and stuff when you put it on high

The editor is 3d and you can fly around the map like you were in a chopper so you can place stuff anywhere...
to have an air spawn you just have to drag the spawn point up in the sky as high as you want... like people have posted... there was 1 custom map where they put the spawn point way way up in the sky... you could freefall for a minute...lol

Idiots.  If they are going to nerf the J10 they have it all wrong is all i am going to say.  Right now it is balanced: an epic fighter but a shit bomber.  F35 just needs a fix on whatever causes missiles to never miss it, then it needs no more tweaking.
