Indeed I do. Apparently something snapped inside the mechanics and they had rip the whole thing apart to get to it and replace. That £250 thing applies to self winding watches too? Got a link or something? I'll remember that for next time something goes wrong.

That does sound a little more expensive to fix than a regular service, but I was under the impression they'll strip the whole movement down and clean it, to the point where it's basically a brand new watch. I haven't got a link, but I've heard that from a couple of people that that's about what Authorised Dealers charge for a full service for most brands. Yeah that includes automatics, I wouldn't think it'd cost very much for a service of a quartz watch, they're pretty simple in comparison.
