Kid who worked at the store was an All-American runner for my high school school and a friend of mine. I trust his word. Plus I got a discount down to $80 from $115. I was recommended Brooks by my cousin but they were too expensive. If I don't like them I'll go Brooks next.

shoes are totally a personal preference. its just that my foot fits one of brook's lines better than any other shoe ive ever tried. theyre not necessarily better, most top of the line shoes from good running companies are along the same level of quality (except nike, which is always shit).

also, i have canada's olympic marathon coach, canada's marathon record holder and my friend who won ncaa div 1 xc this year as supporters of brooks

My feet are weird. They're wide but high arch. The Asics I bought had really good support for that. I also tried a kind of New Balance but didn't like it.

Meh.

And yeah I'd been running with a pair of Nike Turbo 11's and they were fucking awful. I had originally bought them just for daily usage when I didn't feel like throwing on my Tims or my DC shoes and they sucked. Glad I won't be running with them anymore.
