There are two input devices and two output devices that you normally need to concern yourself with when dealing with computers; mouse, keyboard, monitor and audio. People splurge on mice, monitors and audio for the sake of ergonomics and high quality, and there's no reason for why a keyboard should be any different. €120 might be twice what most people pay for a good mouse, but a high quality keyboard will last more than twice as long. It'd fall in line with what most people on this site spend on their other devices.
You've probably cursed it by saying it's the last you're going to buy, watch it break in 6 months or something
i think 1 to 3 years but they're built to last about 10-15
Specs?
cherry mx browns (the best imo)
General functions • 6 keys Anti-Ghosting through USB • 18K Gold Plated mechanical switches and USB connectors • Ability to change the "Windows"-key to "Ctrl" • Multimedia controls • Highly durable metal inner chassis • Ergonomic design saves space and offer full comfort during use • Connector: USB / PS2 (by USB to PS2 converter) • Cable Length: 1.8m / 5.8 ft.
PS/2 functions • Full Anti-Ghosting with PS/2 • ZOWIE RTR™ technology provides 4 levels of repeat-response (normal, 2x, 4x, 8x) - PS/2
the ps/2 functions are neat (i.e. being able to hit every single key at once and have faster response) but a tiny advantage, really. i just wanted a board with cherry mx browns-- the only other ones with browns are the das ultimate silent (usa only) and the filco majestouch (which are nearer £200 and super rare to find).
i almost buttfucked myself on the purchase because for a moment i thought my mobo didn't have any ps/2 connectors... but it has one generic mouse/keyboard one. phew.
