YES.
Review embargo is now up as well. 91 for the 360, not yet calculated for for PC (via Metacritic).

Amazing game and a flawless launch. Too bad I have 2 exams tomorrow morning. Oh joy.
Holy shit, this game is awesome.
However...the ending is absolutely batshit insane. I was playing with Defcon and 2 other people, and the ending is incredibly, incredibly hard...and we were playing on advanced. Tanks REALLY require teamwork. And see...I would've given that teamwork...but my mouse kept shorting out. Just my luck, and perfect timing. This was on No Mercy btw.
Otherwise, it's just as good as the demo is. Each campaign may take up up to an hour and 30 minutes to complete.

I am drinking my own tears. Most of you know how I have waiting for this game, (i.e. impatiently,) and thanks to my computer guy forgetting about me a few too many times I still don't have my new PC.
Have fun anyway, I'll see you in-game if not on the 21st, (going tramping for a couple of days in the Ruahine Ranges,) then definately the 22nd.

Then we finally get close to killing the second tank, and he punches me off the roof.Poseidon wrote:

I know...that was depressing. Yet funny at the same time!DefCon-17 wrote:

Ooooooh, Versus is awesome.
My favourite Infected class so far is the Hunter. It's so epic when you surprise a lone survivor with a leap attack.
Even more epic if a Smoker ensnares one, while you pounce on the one going for the Smoker.
..aaaand even more epic if a Boomer puked on the other two, so they got their hands full trying to fend off the hordes.
When it happened, I was thinking "Laaaame..", but then after, I just found it hilarious.

I think I'll order it on the 28th when I get paid.
Versus mode is incredibly! If the infected work together well and strike at the survivors all at once, the survivers have no change at all (/ just what Defcon wrote). So far i did the most damage with the hunter, grabbing a lone survivor and when shot, just leap away if you can. But i like the Boomer best. Just spawning behind them, and puke them through windows of a metro, or puke off a rooftop.
Anyone already played tank? How was that?

The game is running like shit at the moment, all of Steam's dedicated servers perform as if they're Pentium II's with a 26.8k upstream connection.
Joined 5 servers, each time all 4 players had full Red latency. Pointless even trying.
Disappointed in over-hyped game, gameplay-wise and on a technical level. 2 weeks of demo time to test the waters and they still /fail magnificently.

They're not Valves dedicated servers thats why. It's not the games fault that there were no completely empty low-ping servers avaliable. When in doubt bring up the server browser and join a low ping game-in-progress server yourself. Or just host. I did that all the time in the demo with good results.
As for your other point. Why did you even buy it if you didn't like the gameplay?

Of course the problem has a remedy but to be fair, it's a big problem with Steam's server matchmaking 'tool' if you consistently get thrown into disastrous games hosted in Thailand with a bunch of people from Alaska. I thought the whole point of matchmaking was to find a suitable and favourable result...

The day I decide to use my computer again...demo's gone. Whoops, too late, fuck you. Well fuck you too, Valve!
"people in ny have a general idea of how to drive. one of the pedals goes forward the other one prevents you from dying"
I think the problem is that right now such a thing is in very short supply due to a lack of dedicated servers.Uzique wrote:

So instead of "a suitable and favourable result" it just finds whatever it can .
