There are millions of people and tens of thousands of companies that will fail if they go under.

Rather than right them a tax payers check they should
A) tell the auto onion goons to fuck themselves
B) take money from their profitable european and asian sectors and prop themselves up
C) make a break through economy car and make billions.

what will happen? Someone else will come in and take their places as the "big 3". No big deal.

In the airline industry the big 3 used to be TWA, Pan AM, and Eastern. All are gone now and guess what, the world didn't explode.

If they go bankrupt, they can re-negotiate their contracts with UAW. Meaning they won't have their funds sucked dry by paying guys who tighten bolts all day $40/hr along with crazy pension agreements.

TO CLARIFY (so that it doesn't spark a spat again): I would NOT be laughing at the people that would lose their jobs. I would be laughing at the collapse of part of the car industry (which, as marine will tell you, with me being a 'hippy', I 'dislike' to say the least).
