yupp, new restrictions say that the rear wing has to be narrower.

More importantly though: slicks

also, the small wings and horns and winglets, etc are banned. Examples:

They were an eyesore. I'm glad they're out!

In other news, Vettel is moving to Red Bull Racing and Force India are finally getting McLaren engines. It's annoying that the engine limits are now not minimum 2 races but 3. It's going to be hell at Spa / Monza / Singapore now because they are arguably the most demanding races for the engine - and they run consecutively.

Also, does anyone know is it confirmed that if when the safety car is deployed the pit line will remain open from now on? Wikipedia didn't shed much light on the rumour

Last tweak now would be to clone Hamilton so all cars can be driven with the exact same conditions ...

(...)It has been agreed to minimally revert to the old system, whereby the pitlane will stay open for refuelling even immediately after the deployment of the safety car.(...)

(...)It is expected that, to accompany the revised system for 2009, drivers will need to adhere to a minimum lap time as they drive slowly after deployment of the safety car, as has been trialled several times in free practice this year.

Drivers will be alerted about the deployment of the Mercedes sedan by the illumination of a yellow cockpit light, and have just five seconds to acknowledge the alarm by pressing a button.(...)

That last part should fix up some of the unfairness that comes from Safety Car, but also remove some of the excitement. It's a good idea, imo.

I think these new F1 cars look alot better my favorite F1 cars came from the early noughties without all that shite on the side pods and engine covers.

Don't need all that ground effect shite as Mr.Dale8 put it, because of the slicks (I think, something like that)

Also these cars are gonna have KERS. Basically the energy that's given out during braking will be stored as electricity and can give a boost when needed

And the one for the boffins: http://argent.fia.com/web/fia-public.ns … 7-2008.pdf

A lot of teams have been having trouble with KERS. Batteries blowing up, mechanics getting electrocuted, I think BMW had a huge fire, etc.

Atm, I believe Honda is the only team that has managed to get it to work right.

Hmm, if it's mandatory, then yes, yes you're right about that kez

I don't get it, the whole point of F1 = be at the pinnacle of technology, and now something new and slightly drastic has for once actually been thrown in, and they're complaining.

there are some fairly complicated issues related with KERZZZ. simply put, depending on how tall/heavy your drivers are your car may be quicker over a lap/race WITHOUT running KERS.
