Since when did denying, responding or even reason work with you lowing ?

You make some good points lowing but you totally lack emphasis for people outside you tiny sphere ... a nation with so many greedy egoists, no wonder your economy was the first to crack and the ripples of that is currently spreading around the globe like a malignant virus ... this is what die hard capitalism and a market with too few regulations leads to ...

You obviously have to learn it the hard way even though i hope you don't have to ...

Either make an argument against what I post, or agree with it. Your responses attacking my caracter really doesn't re-enforce anything points you try to make.

So again, start from the beginning and respond to what I post with something other than your personal opinions about my caracter.

I also feel you over exaggerate the staus of our economy. Don't see too many people standing in foodlines wearing business suits yet. Also don't see any decline in inof/tech gadgetry either. Perhaps people are not hurting as bad as you try and make out?

Would be a great little bitch if I did not pay taxes or contribute to society myself, the fact that what I do helps American airmen come home alive is also something worth being here for ( 6 so far.)

Other than that, great post.

Sorry if you refuse to see the point I was making, I will try again, this time you can replace GFx cards with any luxery item you choose.

People are not in so bad of fthat they seem to be cutting back on technology/luxery items. In other words, if we are so bad off and people can not afford food and gas, where are they getting the money for all of this other bullshit?

The other alternative is, you build a piece of shit widget and your competition will drive YOU out of business. The free market is great. Good luck with your business. I hope you do well
Unfortunately, despite the widget being developed almost entirely in the public sector using public money, the government sold the research off to some company at a tiny fraction of it's costs. The government then proceeded to grant that company a monopoly market, so when I tried to produce my superior widget, the government came round to my house and arrested me for breaking their patent protection.

It's odd that you love free markets so much seeing as the widget has, at no point, had anything to do with a free market.

Ut ohhhhhhhhhhhh, so you are telling me people going into debt is the solution? Or is it the problem? If it is the solution, then we should not have any issues to be solved because most of the people in the US are up to their gills in debt.

If it is the problem, then why are they going deeper into it, for shit other than food clothing etc. This would point to finacial irresponsibility and hardly anything more than a personal problem. It icetainly is not the govts. problem, nor is it my problem.

This brings us full circle to what I have been saying all along, there is no "economic crisis", there is a personal responsibility crisis, and all who exercise good judgement with money should not be held accountable for those that do not.

Lowing, maybe this article clairifies things a bit regarding the Iceland-question:

http://www.newyorker.com/talk/financial … surowiecki

Article wrote:

If Iceland were to attempt to emulate America’s approach, its currency would be demolished, and foreign investors would almost certainly head for the exits. The U.S., by contrast, remains the beneficiary of the world’s generosity—no matter how bad our financial situation looks, countries like China and Japan keep pouring hundreds of billions of dollars into U.S. securities. They’re doing this not out of kindness, of course, but because the U.S. is a colossal market and they need us to keep buying stuff. The world can’t afford to have the U.S. fail, and so we are able to get away with behavior that would wreck smaller countries.

"The Icelandic problems have nothing to do directly with American real estate. As Kerry Capell of BW writes:

With the privatization of the banking sector, completed in 2000, Iceland’s banks used substantial wholesale funding to finance their entry into the local mortgage market and acquire foreign financial firms, mainly in Britain and Scandinavia…In just five years, the banks went from being almost entirely domestic lenders to becoming major international financial intermediaries. In 2000, says Richard Portes, a professor of economics at London Business School, two-thirds of their financing came from domestic sources and one-third from abroad. More recently—until the crisis hit—that ratio was reversed. But as wholesale funding markets seized up, Iceland’s banks started to collapse under a mountain of foreign debt. "

The entire high tech industry, bio-tech, drugs research. Almost everything hi-tech from computers to lasers to fibre-optics to new drugs.

Patents and copyrights are by their very definition, nothing to do with free-market economics. If you are for free markets, you have to be against copyrights and patents.

Sorry, I do not work for the govt. but for a private company.

I also will not apologize for the fact that I get paid for my marketable skills. It is really kinda the point of learning a trade or going to school, to make money for you and your family and NOT necessarily for your neighbors or the folks in the next town.

No hardly, I do not consider stealing someone elses work and research as part of a free market. I feel it is essential for a means to protect ones work from theft. If it were not, why would people do any leg work at all and the end result would be no advances in anything.

Directly, no. We have all established that. However, the subprime-bubble saying "pop" -> global financial crisis -> Iceland relying on foreign capital -> fucked = indirect impact.

And this is not an "OMG America sucks"-rant. Just stating the facts. Hell, this might happen with China in the next 20 odd years or so. Europe has learned ~20 years ago, the U.S. learned, again. It's like pretending monopoly money is real money. The current economic system is still in its beta stage, and milder variants of this have happened and will happen again and again, every four years. What happened this time was just a textbook example of free-roaming markets with minimal state governance.

https://img530.imageshack.us/img530/5334/420four20year20cycle20drv9.png

So markets need to be regulated, for the greater good.

I don't know if I'm just blowing bullshit up your asses or if I might even be on to something. What I do know, is that this thread is seriously off-topic.

So you are against free markets as I am.

High tech industry is based on stealing publicly funded research or buying it at a fraction of its costs and slapping a patent on it making it a monopoly market. The public funds the research and companies sell the product that the public paid to develop at monopoly prices. Nothing to do with free-market economics at all, and it completely prevents others from using the same publicly funded research to develop their own widgets.

Nope I didn't brush off anything, the article that YOU gave me did. regardless, France is almost bankrupt as well, and it has nothing to do with the US, instead it has everything to do with its socialism. Ya know, the therory that you do not have to provide for yourself because someone else eventually will?
