I was inpired by the superPI thread  and  a thread on a other forum
so here it is

The Bf2s SUPER_Pi  3.6GHz challenge.

To submit a score, you need SuperPI Mod 1.5XS, and CPU-Z, to confirm your clock speeds.

So it is all tweaks now. who can get the most out of his CPU and MEM and windows.

Rules
  • your CPU must run @ 3.6GHz
  • One result per system. Submitting a new score overwrites your old one.
  • You may submit up to five different systems.
  • "A system" is, in this case, defined by processor. If you've got several identical CPUs, be ready to prove it.Without a screenshot showing SuperPI and CPU-Z, your score will not be added to the chart.
  • I can't update the chart all the time. I do more than just watch this thread, so don't PM me. If you post a legit result, it gets added.

Sorry AMD users
and creds to Freezer for the basic layout.
I already added the scores witch are made at 3.6GHz in Freezers thread.

GOOD LUCK ALL.

So it's basically a "who has the most expensive cpu" contest?

not really, At $200 my cpu is far from the most expensive and it runs at 3.6 ghz, though that's 1.2 faster than stock.

Thats not what I mean. Look at the chart. E2180 vs E8400, both at the same clock. It's pretty obvious which one is going to calculate faster.

that is also about the cache   the E8400 has more of it.  I can make 2 leader boards    6mb cpu  and 4mb cpu

So all I need to do is LOWER the frequency of my CPU?

Not gonna work out.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

Besides clocks, cache matters the most when talking about core2duo's. Then memory freq and timings. I have no competition with my 1mb L2 CPU. The Q9550 I had for a while would have ripped in this, but vista 64-bit refused to run SPi.

I have no problem running it in vista 64, though if i'm trying for the best times i use xp

and to ggforce i see what you mean now, also clock for clock the 45nm will beat the 65nm

How come are phishman and menzo so much faster? Something to do with the die shrink between earlier C2D's and later ones?

More efficient clock-per-clock, and more L2.

To conquer this thread, you need an E84/5/600, a kicker mobo and awesome RAM. It's all down to the FSB and RAM speed now.
