luckily, I dont have to stash weapons or ammo yet. 7.62X54R ammunition is still fairly cheap, as are the rifles that shoot it. I'm still working on a good place and method to store emergency food and supplies.

oh, and also buy up some silver dollars, dimes, and nickels from the pre '68 era just for some hard currency that will never lose its value compared to paper. I think, better to buy it at whatever price its at now (silver that is) then wait until the inflation train hits.

From my experience all you need in a real crisis is a big stash of cigarettes. You can trade that for anything else.

But as far as the food goes - vegetable oil, rice and dry powdered milk. And of course all canned food can last long as well.

But rice boiled in water is you safest bet since there is hardly any smell when cocking. And if your entire neighbourhood is starving last thing you want to do is start heating up some beans with beef
