No, you just didn't understand was he was trying to say.

He was saying all the others (like the Pitt and Point Lookout) had potential, but once you beat it all you can is go back to give teddy bears (The Pitt) and get punga (Point Lookout).

Pitt also has an ammo press (not that it means a whole lot)

You can also do sidequests (there's like 5) and discover all the locations in Point Lookout, and you can find all the ingots as well as give teddy bears in The Pitt.

FWIW, Fallout 1 and 2 (as well as other Interplay titles) are coming to Steam today.

I think I might pick them up once I get back from vacation.

Would be good if Microsoft would put Fallout 3 on the new XBL Games-On-Demand service.

I'm almost eager to pay premium-dolla in order to play through some of these 'must-play' titles that I've never had the effort to actually pick-up.

I really liked Fallout1, not much bad to say about it. Be sure to download a widescreen patch or else the game will look shit.

FO2, not so much. It was not a bad game, but it just wasn't as good as FO1. First off it was much more difficult than the first one in the beginning, and much easier toward the end. Getting the Hardened Power Armor and Turbo Plasma in FO1 made you a fucking badass, but in FO2 getting the Advanced Power Armor and Pulse/Gauss Rifle made the game boring. Also FO2 had no respect for the cannon, almost all the new guns in the game were real world guns, I have no clue what the FAL, P90, Jackhammer, L85, G11 and M60 are doing in a game set in 2243, they were just so out of place it killed the game a bit. Also the Wasteland is a bit too, civilized now. In FO1 everyone's only concern was staying alive, but in FO2 there is enough stability that shit like politics and economics are larger plot drivers than mere survival. I was also turned off a bit by all the sex in the game, it was like they were pandering to horny kids, now sure there is sex in FO1 and FO3, but in FO2 you had a stat that ranked you on how good you were at sex and how many people you've fucked, I felt sleazy playing parts of the game. Also the best part of FO1, the ability to defeat the end boss by using your INT and CHR stats to convince him to kill himself, was absent. Also the end boss, who was an Enclave Super-Mutant with special Power Armor, was not really part of the game's plot like FO1's Mutant Master.

Now that said FO2's plot is just as good and the combat is vastly improved, and there was much more and better humor than in FO1. It was by no means a bad game and you should play it, but it just lacked the feel and charm of FO1. I feel that FO3 actually felt more of a successor to FO1 than FO2 was, despite having completely different gameplay, being set in a different location and not even being a direct sequel, it still felt like it had more in common with FO1 than FO2 did.

The only thing that made FO2 better was it's humour.

That said, FO3 had a thin plot, bland gameplay, and very little to do.

I don't think so. I think they said they were going to release Broken Steel, followed by Anchorage, The Pitt, Point Lookout and MZ.

One per week, in a different order than they were for the 360

Use Amazon?

IRT

I've decided to wait until the GOTY edition of the game comes out, and buy that. It's £29.99 pre-order on amazon at the moment and buying all the DLC seperately will cost more I think. So I'm going to buy the GOTY edition and sell my current on on Ebay or something for about a tenner. That should work out nicely.

The GOTY edition, for how expansive the DLC's are, is definitely worth the money.

It's probably just gonna be annoying to get 5 radio signals/messages once you get out of the vault.

I wonder if my current saves will work with it. Well even if they did I'd start again anyway. In one save i'm at level 20 and i've pretty much done literally everything in the wasteland. So getting to level 30 would both be a waste of time and very difficult.

So i'll just start again. Again. For the 4th (5th?) time.

I would think so. It IS Fallout 3, it just has all of the DLC on it.

Have you ever bought from that store before?  The site seems legit but I just want to make sure someone else can verify it won't just take my money.

Broken Steel is fun so far.  The new perks aren't anything to write home about, but the heavy incinerator is a fucking beast.  I look forward to the rest of it.
