Good thing. Would be really stupid if they'd done that.
This is the second time something like this has arisen though. The first time was with the paid content or whatever. It's good that they're going back on their decisions after seeing the uproar about it though.
So, +1 to Sony.

I think they are noticing that some of their announcements were not so popular and they had to go back to free content for all the world, because they don't want to ruin such an innovative game with stupid decisions. GG for realizing Sony.
Yeah it might've been a mistake or it might've been a reversed decision.
Either way no region lock is obviously whats best for the game. And all games. If only more companies would realise this. And not just on the consoles. On Steam companies like Ubisoft and Atari only make their games avaliable in North America, while others like Activision and a bunch of others charge much higher prices in some countries compared to others.
Region Specific stuff needs to go.

I though that games had to be region specif for standard def due to differences in the way the signal is decoded by the TV?
If all these years they have been making things region specific just to be dicks that is fucked up.

Somehow it's meant to stop piracy. At least that's what I've heard about the PAL region encoding and shite. ZOMGPIRACY111!!!1!!!!!!VicktorVauhn wrote:

Tbh, I think the pirates out there should go get fucked, things are so shite now for the honest consumer.
Whoa... Can't believe these forums are still kicking.
Most TV's can read PAL and NTSC.Flecco wrote:

I was talking about the PAL regions dude, Australia is in region 4 or 6, can't remember. Some dvds cannot be watched on Australian region players because they don't have the correct PAL region code. The only reason I'm even slightly aware of this is because I can't watch my Trading Places dvd on most of the dvd players I've tried it on (around 8, only 1 played it).sergeriver wrote:

Still, I guess that's why PCs are awsm.

I get pissed off when I made a backup of a dvd to be told that it's region encoded and I have to change the region of my dvd drive to do it.
Thankfully now I've got a few programs that get around that problem, but it was so stupid.

I know about the DVD regions, but here in Argentina, they sell you the DVD players unlocked, although all DVD's are zone 4.Flecco wrote:
