Graphics card for someone who doesnt get to play much

I dont get to play much as my job keeps me away from home a lot. But I recently installed vista so i thought i might was get a dx10 card. Considering i was on XP using a X1900xt it was more than capable for what i needed it for cod4/bf2/quake wars so i didn't see the point of upgrading as i feel there isn't much on the horizon that warrants a upgrade.

Just looking for some opinions what would be a good card...I looked around and the 4850 looks about right? Opinions welcome!

I think the 40% difference is worth the extra £10-20.

30% cheaper on NE (taking MIRs into consideration), but the 4850 is 40% faster and can handle pretty much any game out there right now - except Crysis on Very High of course.

I started to play bf2 again after a 1.5 year hiatus and prefer to play po2 with tactical gamer. I don't use voip though as i don't have a mic and i don't play enough now to warrant a purchase of a headset.

I don't log into xfire anymore, man too many people bother me and i hate typing. I did three dissertations while at university not to mention the zillions of coursework...i avoid it like the plague.

yeah but my system does not like it. Im getting blue screens everywhere and half my devices went missing.

No idea what happened.

I am also getting lots of hardware interrupts (again) and need to find which piece of shit hardware is playing up.
