I hate when the dentist bitches at me too because my dentist teeth are horrible. I don't mind the eye doctor, it's not a bad experience for me.

Honestly? If he has to do it that often that it really becomes a life problem to you - you probably deserve it. ;o)

Not being fine comes way before feeling pain when your teeth are concerned.

Bigger hole -> deeper drilling -> uncomfortabalistical procedure!!!

I don't like dentists, and I make that point known when I go there, maybe that's why I have so many fillings.

I hate them for the exact same reasons. I hate when they pick at your gums and they're like "See that blood?" All I want to say is, "Yeah, but I wouldn't if you didn't just stab me in the fuckin mouth."

I fortunately found a really good dentist who doesn't talk about how bad your teeth are and is pretty painless. Before I used to even feel them working on my teeth with "extra" novicane, or so the dentist told me, and this one I barely even feel the needle that puts novicane in my mouth.

The only noise and pain I hate at the dentists is after you leave, approach the desk and get told how much that checkup and filling just cost.  £40.

The person who see's me changes a lot but the assistants stay the same, 18-22 students.  Last time I went my dentist was Spanish, I cant remember her name but we got on great.

Im sat in the chair, gob open, pads pushed between cheeks and teeth and Im trying to tell her to 'behave' in an Austin Powers voice.
holy shit that's like $80

And I forgot, I think I have an eye doctor appointment today as well. Gah. Last time the asshat tried to force me to use contacts. All I want is a new prescription so I can get new glasses, THAT'S IT.

You don't understand. I hate putting things near my eyes except for glasses. I can't stand eye drops, you think I could stand having to nearly touch my eyes each morning? And then having to touch them again to take off the contacts? To hell with that

I get nice looking glasses, not those birth control goggles they give you in boot camp so I look fine. I'm probably gonna get LASIK in a few years. I know they still touch your eye with a knife or some shit during the op, so I'll just take some morphine or similar beforehand.

I don't mind them. I hated it when I had braces, but now I'm finished with those. Then I got my 4 wisdom teeth pulled, which sucked.
But now all the painful stuff is over. Only thing I don't like is the super bright light they shine in your mouth. I fuckin tear up everytime they shine it on me, it's too bright.

Oh yes, and I also hate when the saliva drips down the back of your throat and you choke. >.<

They take a scalpel and remove your cornea. They fire lazars into your eyeballs, then they put your cornea back on.
Alien surgery tbh.

Mission was a success. My teeth were so good the dentist couldn't find anything to yell at me for, just the usual lecture on how to floss.

Take that.

You are a misinformed child

First:

Contacts don't hurt at all. They did like the first...two days, but then they were fine. You don't even touch your eyes, and the new Acuvue Oasis (or whatever) don't hurt at all.

Second:

You don't even feel LASIK. They use a laser...

Yeah, but at one point they have to use a tool to lift the cornea flap they make.

And i know contacts don't hurt, I just don't like getting near my eyes :3

I have the coolest dentist. I lay down in this massage chair while I get my teeth worked on. Also I have the option to listen to satellite radio.

No...not that I've ever heard of. The laser does everything.

Dude, I used to think the same way...I got my first contacts when I was 12 and haven't looked back since.

I had a really bad experience when I was a about 6. Can't remember exactly what I was having done but apparently it was so painful my legs where jerking and shaking and I was crying. I never went back to that dickhead.

Found a better one now anyway, go about once every 2 years.

What kind of contacts? The hard or soft ones?

Never tried the soft lenses, always had the hard ones. I gave up on them cause even after 1.5 months, my eyes still hadn't gotten used to them. Plus, that was exacerbated by the fact I was in XC at the time, and when sweat or other particles got into my eyes, burned like hell but wasn't able to rub them out.

From what my friends tell me, soft lenses are so much better although you have to replace them more often.

I've never even heard of hard ones...only hard ones I know are from like the early 1900's.

This is what I use:

"The flap is folded back, revealing the stroma, the middle section of the cornea. The process of lifting and folding back the flap can be uncomfortable."

If they have lasers that can fold back flaps, then we have ion cannons in space.

There's mention of a bladeless flap incision in the wiki article.

wiki wrote:

Today, faster lasers, larger spot areas, bladeless flap incision, intraoperative pachymetry, and wavefront-optimized and -guided techniques have significantly improved the reliability of the procedure compared to that of 1991.

Yeah, IntraLASIK. But that just makes the incision. You still have to move the flap so the laser can zap the cornea.
