Some no-name 19" monitor, not widescreen.

I love it, though

You forgot 5:4, which is quite popular for LCDs <19" in size.

Anyhow, I'm on:

Packard Bell 240W
24" LCD
5ms
1920x1200 (16:10)
2000:1

KTC KT700
17" LCD
12ms
1280x1024 (5:4)
500:1

HP Compaq nx7010 (laptop)
15.4" LCD
10ms
1280x800 (16:10)
200:1 according to specs, but it's got way better contrast than my 500:1, so I'd say it's about 600-800:1. Had this screen replaced once, too.

Nokia 500Xa
15" LCD
30(!) ms
50:1 ()

A bunch of CRTs on top of that.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP
