Black Swan: ouch/10

yeah, portman is amazing. director's work is amazing. but, holy crap, that movie is dense. too intensive and emotion-packed for an old fart like myself.

That is my point. Why does everyone have to tell me how wrong I am because *I* like Battle Los Angeles?
I personally enjoyed Battle LA, too. I now have seen it 3 times, including when I saw it at the theaters.

Law Abiding Citizen - 6.5/10

A good oldschool'ish hollywood thriller. As many reviews have already said, the last 10-15 minutes really ruin it, it could have been a lot better.

Agreed, it's The Jackal all over again. When will Hollywood learn that the "goodies" don't always have to "win".

Some laughs, I'd fap to the redhead, overall probably not worth the highway robbery ticket prices. More a "catch on HBO film."

I just don't find women comedians to be funny. Create an entire cast of them and you have a movie theater full of women laughing their asses off while the guys just sit there uncomfortable. Meh. Should've waited for it on HBO.

I believe your correlation to be merely superficial.
Better?

I'm not a great fan of fight club neither. That isn't to say that I agree with your carbon copy deduction.

I agree with you. I did say that, but it wasn't what I really meant. The two movies are nothing alike over all, but the role played by the character was enough to ruin the 2nd movie for me... Make more sense?

The Adjustment Bureau:
9/10 - Best movie I have seen in a long time. I was expecting it to be slow, but the characters were likeable enough to keep the story moving right along. Really really good movie.

I'm glad, cause I just reread that sentence and it was so poorly written I barely understand it. lol...

Gnomeo and Juliet (I have a 5 yr old daughter) only watch it if you have a 5 yr old daughter/10

The Scarlet Letter  7/10

Didn't get to see the whole thing, as I was working around the house while it was on, but from what I was able to catch, it appeared to be a pretty good film (even had Demi Moore's pre-surgical hooters). Solid period piece, very detailed.

I'm thinking I'll have to pick up the book when I have time. One of those classics I've never gotten around to reading.

I didn't particularly like the book but then again it was forced high school reading, the majority of which I didn't like when I first read it.

He's Just Not That Into You (2009)
7/10

Relationship movie with multiple plot lines that are connected to each other via several characters.
Quite some interesting theories about relations, how they get started and how they fail, and most importantly how different the views and interpretations of men and women are.

Has some stereotypical American "in the end they marry and live happily ever after" plot lines though.

Also, quite a large cast of notable actors in all the story lines.

I'll go with something other than "Easy A"'s assessment of the film, thanks.

Plus, it has Gary Oldman in it.

I dont really lik Russel Brand. Just because he had a character that people appereantly liked in forgetting sarah Marshall, they thought he deserved his own movie (Get him to the greek) and now tehy just use him as a (shitty) actor to boost sales.
It was okay, but not thanks to him (even though he played the lead role)

hangover 2 - 7/10.

standard, as expected. decent score because it did what it was supposed to do decently. easy, cheap laughs.

saw it with my girlfriend and she hated it because of the drug references and my inevitable laughs. qq. props to them for going all-out with the depictions, that's pretty ballsy for a comedy aimed at people of (mostly) all ages. sure the ratings board had a ball on that one.

Cars 2 5/10

nothing original about the story line, nothing new, same overall plot from other movies but different details

if Pixar didn't have Brave coming out next year, I would say they are stuck in a sequel rut. With all the Toy Stories ( rumors of a 4th ), sequel to Cars and a prequel to Monsters Inc.

the two things I enjoyed was the short at the beginning and this was my sons first trip to the movie theater
