Sucker Punch: 5/10 -- Bad, annoying plot line and just boring, nearly pointless filler dialog, but damn if the music and visuals weren't nice. Not nice enough to save it from being bad, overall, however.

Hanna: 8/10 -- A very well put together action flick. Fight scenes are incredibly well done and not at all "jumpy to hide bad choreography" type editing. Story wasn't terribly surprising, but well laid out and it worked to keep things ticking along.

Same score I gave it last time, I think. Also been meaning to see Hanna soon.

A Simple Plan - 8.5/10

This was excellent, a crime/drama set in a small snowy town, that at the beginning does't promise too much but turns into something terrific, the plot development is the best thing about this film, I have yet to read the book, but fully intend to now. What seemingly starts off as a comedy/drama suddenly becomes much more twisted and dark as it progresses, something that can be hard to pull off, but the director does this perfectly. This was the best I have ever seen Billy Bob Thornton act, he does a great job playing the role of Bill Paxtons confused and, as we later find out, depressed brother. Well worth the watch, nothing fancy about it, just good acting, understated cinematography and a great story.

The Last Airbender.
3/10
I was wondering the whole way through how you could take a simple premise and a big cgi budget and put it together that badly. Then the credits came on and I saw:

Written, Directed, and Produced by

He had so much potential, because of the sixth sense. But he wasted it all in shitty movies.

Battle LA.

If there were any more 'muhreeens, oorahhhhhhh' scenes, I'd have passed out.

And why the fuck do all cameramen have parkinsons disease these days? Most of the time I couldnt tell what the fuck was happening because the camera was either shaking too much, or pointed at one object.

Other than those things, yeah it was alright. Not as brilliant as I'd hoped it to be, but alright.

Shaky cam makes up for lack of content, makes it look really intense to walk across the street. Therefore if the whole movie is in shaky cam, you don't need a good script, the whole movie is awesome anyway.

Shaky cams can go die in a fire unless they're used for passenger-cam traffic collisions or up-close explosions. NOT for standing in an air-conditioned office talking about bad weather.

RED 7/10 Great cast, who seem to enjoy their roles. Though I can't believe what passes for a PG film nowadays.

Been meaning to grab the Tudors on bluray (historical inaccuracies aside), but was aghast when I saw the prices for it on Amazon.
