Just my opinion.

All very good movies btw.
out of all those movies I seen the batman ones, and The Prestige as well as Memento, I would have to say Memento or Prestige would be at the top out of those movies.... considering their unique plots

On topic: Star Trek: ToS - The Tholian Web: 4/5 (for old TV)

I can only imagine the aliens' reaction when they spent like three hours weaving the Enterprise into an energy trap only to have the thing disappear into subspace or whatever. It'd be like:

Meanwhile, back on the Tholian ship...

"Wat."

Speaking of which, "The Dark Knight" - 8/10

I might've rated it higher before, but every time I see it I get a little more annoyed by the holier-than-thou message. As much as I like Heath Ledger's Joker, I miss the old Batman movies where bad guys dropped like flies and Batman would be like "no, please, don't" with that amount of enthusiasm when it came to trying to save one.

In this manner, I think "Batman Begins" was a little better. No matter what angle you look at it though, "The Dark Knight" is one of the best comic book movies of all time.
Thats what I hate.  Batman Begins was a way better movie (and directed by Nolan, yes) but Dark Knight gets all the attention and praise.
Maybe it'll come full circle in Batman 3. I'm missing the "I'm not going to kill you, but I don't have to save you" attitude. I mean seriously, they're movies. You don't have to keep the bad guys alive for the next issue each month, since you can always expect reboots every 10 to 20 years. I mean yeah, i found myself wanting to see more of Two-Face, yet they spent half the movie building him up only to kill him abruptly and let the Joker (without Ledger to follow up) live.

Bah!

Predicted the ending, but the movie as a whole kept me guessing.
Basically exactly this.  But 8.5 probably.

The timeline seemed to have some inconsistencies but meh... the hotel fight scene was though

Now that I've got bats on the mind, here's the cast I'm rooting for in Batman 3 (depending on which bad guys they pick)

Aaron Eckhart - Two-Face (I've always been in denial that he really died, even if they say he did; coma, maybe, sealing his insanity)
Timothy Spall - the Penguin
Cary Elwes - the Riddler (I'm like one of the few people who don't really see Johnny Depp in this role)
Wallace Shawn - the Ventriloquist
Edward Norton - Mr. Freeze
Jack Nicholson - Dr. Hugo Strange ('The Batman' TV version...the creepy old one voiced by Frank Gorshin; really going out on a limb here, I doubt Jack'd want to do another Batman, but it'd guarantee a ticket for me)
Bruce Campbell - The Creeper (the only actor I can think of who could pull it off; I think; could also do the actor-Clayface)
Mark Hamill - Clock King
???? - Firefly

Stumped for the bad gals. No doubt a lot of fans would choose the first pretty lady they could think of regardless of acting talent.

Of course, all this could be pipe dreams, but they're who I'd envision. Check imdb if stumped.

The Prestige - 9/10.

can't really believe i overlooked it. got back around to watching it thanks to miggle's suggestion and a recent discussion on Nolan (triggered by, of course, inception). the film is really well-done. i feel i must say, though, that the majority of my high-rating comes from the plot/story itself and not from the filmic attributes. the cinematography, acting, setting/make-up and directing was all top-notch-- but it's the story and the underlying themes taken from the novel that really MAKE this film a watch-again/read-again experience. the film's shortness actually seems to have a danger of reducing the characters down into simple-attributes/embodiments of a 'theme', and doesn't fully develop certain aspects of the storytelling in enough depth/detail.

still very good, though. will be watching it many times again.

ive got to admit the ending felt like a bit of a cheap-trick but he-ey, it gave one-last twist and a nice neat little tie-together.

It somehow never gripped me, despite good acting from Hugh Jackman and Ed Norton. And the end somehow really turned me down.

Was a bit (but juuust a little bit) disappointed after seeing the trailer, but still loved it.
Not THE best movie, but a good one for sure.

Indeed it is, I had it sitting in my cupboard for ages but never watched it until now.

9/10

It's definitely worth watching twice though, you have to take the information you get at the end and apply it to every scene up to that point for you to really understand the film, complex !

Watched through the Bourne trilogy yesterday.

Damn good films, especially the first, but by the end the whole shaky camera thing was really pissing me off.

Michael J. Fox jokes were made, I'm afraid...

8/10

I thought the Bourne movies were OK, but the fans have overhyped them on the internet.

If it wasn't for some of the more annoying camerawork, I'd file them right next to my Bond films.

The one thing I don't like about The Prestige (though I still think it's an awesome film) is that (and I mentioned this before being so rudely interrupted with "Don't say anything I haven't seen it!" )
Spoiler (highlight to read):
it doesn't play by its own rules. All the magic tricks aren't magic at all, but are created through engineering and science and a few trap doors. Oh except for the huge magic trick that just insta-clones people no big deal. That leap was a bit too far for me, I wasn't as ready to suspend my disbelief as I had been prior, or with any other of Nolan's films.

The skill is in the showmanship!

The sorcerer's apprentice.

Im still wondering why I decided to go see a movie starring nic cage. It's not awful in terms of production, the plot itself SUCKS. IT'S THE SAME FUCKING SHIT AGAIN.
Socially awkward guy fancies hot girl. He gets embarassed infront of her/ girl does not like him. Supernatural shit occur to him, and then he has to save the world from destruction! He pulls that off, and then makes out with said girl.

I can name three, fucking THREE movies with their plots revolving around this^ concept. Fucking hell I want my money back. No wonder people pirate everything these days.
