it's a stupid explanation but you kinda see his point

a lot of top-end car producers like making '+1' models that are essentially their luxury car plus one with some crappy addition

even when they look worse, drive worse and overall ARE worse- the fact they're perceived as an 'upgrade' to the standard flagship car means people buy it

kinda like the new bentley continental that was on top gear this week. it's a pretty shit car but, at the end of the day, footballers will be racing to buy it to out-do their chums with the paltry and crappy continental-standard model.

Dodge had a weak version called the Stealth. SOHC V6 was the highest engine they had on the Stealth, while the top model 3000GT for Mitsubishi had a DOHC Twin Turbo V6 as the top version. Dodge and Mitsubishi shared a lot of cars back then and still share some today. For instance the Mitsubishi Raider is just a re-tagged Dodge.

In the U.S. it's called the 3000GT since Mitsubishi didn't want to get it confused with the Pontiac GTO which was big over here. Everywere else in the world it's known as the GTO. The 2000GT is a Toyota Supra.

Anyway, I see 3000's all the time and they are usually never in good shape. Judging from the few pics it looked good. Nice one Camm.

Yeah I knew I managed to get it wrong, I meant 3000GT...

Well it's not really a car you see at all in europe afaik so I didn't know it was called a GTO...
