Well I know that roughly 200 years ago my fathers side of the family were Irish living in Ireland. They then emigrated to England for reasons unknown (The Great Hunger??). They even changed their surname from Murtagh to Murta (my bizarre surname today), probably to disguise the name and avoid any anti-Irish sentiment. My mothers side of the family have been traced back as far as possible to England.
So a crude estimate makes me 75% English and 25% Irish. Although I may have some Irish blood, I definitely have an English heart
Edit: On second thoughts it's probably not 50/50, since my fathers side would have married into an English family.
