How do I crop a picture and save it so that I can upload it as my avatar? Every time I try this, it always exceeds the 10kb. I've seen other's avatars that are crystal clear. The only way I can get mine under 10kb is if I make the quality absolute crap.
If you just post the pic we might be able to do it for you.
Post the pic and we will edit it.

Use png for graphics, things which have sharp edges.
Use jpg for photographs or things which are smooth/blendy/don't have sharp edges.

That was the problem though...jpeg and ping were too big no matter how I tried resizing them.
Gif seems to work well for avatars though. It saves most avatar size pictures under 10kb.

Yes but never save as .gif if the pic isn't squared. If its round the edge will be very pixelated.ebug9 wrote:

Save your image for web when in photoshop. Thats what I always do and it always gets under 10kb. Its in the File dropdown menu
