Even if I got my Luxman M120A a little while ago, I actually "paid" (i.e. gave the guy the other amplifiers I had fixed for him) for my, finished recapping it, and got it installed today. It's sex. It's more than a little better than my old 30W sub amp.

What song is that by the way? Sounded like it had potential!

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

no, muh shit is black yo.

this is what's included with the 310, 110, and I assume the rest of the SE series:

black things closest to camera: foam.
The foam is the best all round, I have used all of them for quite some time with all types of music; the foam definitely gets my vote. Plus I own the Se 530's and so thus supercede you alllll! Use a size that's slightly too big for your ear, squeeze it and compress it, put it gently inside your ear canal and let the foam naturally expand so that it fits snugly in yer lughole. That's the way to do it!
How do you insert them?

I squeeze the foam, insert it with the shure logo upside-down, twist it 180 degrees and loop the cable around my ear. Seems to be the standard way of doing it...

Just eBay-camped all morning (from 3am til now, it's 9:44am, lulz) the best fucking deal on a guitar amplifier ever. One of the best guitar amplifiers of all-time (we're talking The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, U2, Brian May, and everyone from that classic-era to modern day modern) with the widely-renown best guitar amplifier speaker custom-fitted inside it. Retails easily for around £1,100 in stock-retail condition, non-vintage, non-collectors, run of the mill factory version. How much did I pay for this modified valve-tone beauty? Nearer £400.00. Short-duration early-morning auctioning + poor seller foresight on the 'competition' of said-item at said ridiculous time = one sweet bargain for me. I literally cannot wait to get my hands on her.

Will work on selling and getting rid of my lower-end Vox amplifier ASAP, there's no room in the family for any other badboys but this one!

https://www.gradwellhouse.com/images/amps_vox.jpg

Edit: In response to the Shure questions- squeeze the foam insert so that it is compressed, loop the earphone over the top of your ear so that the 'Shure' text is the right way up on the earpiece, and then insert deep into the ear canal but not so that is causes discomfort. The natural curve/shape of the earphones will hold them in place, as well as the looping of the cable over and around your earlobe. The foam will expand and within 5 seconds you'll have a snug-fit state of sound isolation .

I have a ton of guitars but at Uni I have with me always on my left-side a 1972 Fender Telecaster Custom (that's the one with the Tele bridge twang and the mellow/gorgeous jazz-blues humbucker tone on the neck). Custom fitted out the pots and so on so it plays like a beast, drive it currently through a smaller Vox valve amp but really the AC15/AC30 are the absolute top valve amps, period. I'd say rivalled only in clear-tone clarity by the original '68 Fender Deluxe Twin Reverbs, which sell for about 3 grand nowadays in good original condition...

Needless to say, high-end Telecaster + Vox valve amp = some fucking sexy tones! I also squeeze my sound through a bunch of digital/analogue stompboxes- digital and analogue delay, analogue reverb, a few fuzz/overdrive pedals to get some better bluesy tones / rock attitude, and with some other toys that I like to use pretty often like the Ebow (think Sigur Ros, I guess).

My Xonar DX came today, it's ! pics were taken on my new Samsung Pixon phone(which I got yesterday), €80 for the Xonar & €400 for the Pixon(8MP camera phone FTW). I'm amazed how the audio quality is so much better, I would never believed unless I heard it.
