VelociRaptor TBH. (Or the 150GB which isnt much more expensive than the one you posted).
The one that is $50 more ASSUMING I would ever receive the $20 rebate? So, making it a $70 difference?
Given that it has a larger capacity and is way faster I don't see that as much more, plus $70 is what £50? That's not really a lot, I waste more than that each month on going out and I'm not a heavy drinker.
Don't buy Raptors tbh.

Get a WD 640GB, Samsung Spinpoint, or Seagate 7200.11/7200.12. They're all > Raptors.

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

Those Seagates are nice, but the Raptors beat them in real-world benchies.

But the speed difference is negligible, and you'll only see it in benchmarks. The small gains don't justify the price IMO.

So the 2800 extra RPM on the Raptor doesnt help? Wtf? I thought 7200 drives were all limited by their RPMs

Also FINALLY got my P182 ! UPS was being slow as piss... Took 1.5 weeks to get here instead of 3 days

To my fellow P182 owners, know any good way of getting the massive bundles of wires from the PSU farther away from the bottom fan?

The only thing i could do was pull the cables through the holes as tightly as possible then cable tie them on the other side. havent had any problems so far... but whenever i open my case up (for watever reason) i check the cables.

I don't use the bottom fan. If you really need the airflow down there, seal the holes around the PSU, and it'll naturally suck air in over the HDDs.

It does help in access and seek times, but it's only a very small amount. As far as transfer speed and such, they get beat by said drives above. No drive even comes close to taking full advantage of the bandwidth available, so the 7200 drives aren't limited in the slightest.

don't expect it to be better, but it shouldn't be worse.

Well i'm getting more money than I thought back from the goverment this tax season so I might invest in a C2Q.  Is it worth it to get the Q9400?

Depends what you do. For gaming, I hear the Dual core E4/500s still dominate.
