Actually bought a few days ago.  I was tired of using a headset and my shitty logitech Z5300's burnt out a LONG time ago.  Pretty happy with them.  Very full sound, bass in kinda punchy though without any real substance.  7/10

Klipsch Pro-media 2.1
I've had this set for a few years now and I've loved every second, apart from when I let some people use them for guitar hero at a LAN where I feared for their life; I hadn't ever played them that loud, but they seemed to survive well and even open up a bit. I haven't noticed the problem with the bass you describe, but I don't listen to much DnB or the like, although they seem fine when I do. I'll take it that you're more discerning than I.

In any case, since technically I purchased them yesterday, en route is:

Asus P6T SE x58
Intel i7 930
XFX 5870
6GB G.Skill Pi DDR3 1600
Corsair 850TX

All in all, I'm pretty damn excited... pics on arrival/build.
Well the bass is punchy compared to my home theater which features a def tech super-cube sub with Klipsch reference series satellites.
You ll like that rig, what is your vid card?

In the new rig? As listed, XFX 5870 1GB. Right now, I'm on a 512mb 4850.

but i will say the patriot's have been the most compatible drives. we run mostly PC at work, but i've found they'll work on Mac, linux, even use one for installing windows on laptops . . .

HTPC + Other Server shit. (Like teamspeak and webserver and the like)

The CPU is all that i needed. It runs fine, perfect with full 1920x1080 resolution, while running a 1080 40GB video, ~ 30-40% CPU

For under $100, it's by far the best component for it's worth.

Also got my windows remote working, easiest thing to do ever. apt-get install lirc, DONE!

There is some anniversary bargains at local PC cooling shop so I'll pick up 2x Scythe Gentle Typhoon 1450rpm fans and a Megahalems.

Opted for little higher rpm fans as I have fan controller to quiet em down when I want but could use some cooling reserve when I need it.

Finally got my Arctic Cooling Accelero XTREME GTX PRO (that name is truly ridiculous), after it had a slight detour thanks to the post office.

Spoiler (highlight to read):
AND BEFORE ANYBODY POINTS IT OUT, YES, IT'S STANDING ON AN APPLE PRODUCT.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

That looks awesome, what GPU are you going to mount that on? You should post the results too.

It's going on a GTX260 c216.

And I won't post any results, because I don't care about the temperatures. I just want the god forsaken thing not to sound like a lawn mower.

best reason to switch up your stock heatsink imo, those ones do run quite, had one on my 9800gt awhile back.
