Picked up a Razer Lycosa... 85 bucks it better type by itself or im switching back to 10 dollar MS keyboard.
Update:
I haven't opened the box yet lol... I am getting a bit of buyers remorse.
I really only need a keyboard with backlighting so i can see the keys in the dark...
i don't play much in terms of games...just modding BF2 and doing graphics.
heading to microcenter now and may pick up a monitor or more ram?

Love is the answer
I have one. It isnt the best keyboard ever, but you can type comfortable on it. Nothing more special about it. You got the backlight, which you always have to use, otherwise you cant see what characters you're pressing.
And upgrade it immediately to the newest firmware! I disabled the windowsbutton and I couldn't activate it anymore without the update. :p

How can you justify getting the Razer rather than the G15 then?TheEternalPessimist wrote:

srsly the razer has no features except for backlit keys, and is more expensive than a G15 -.-

The looks?
Meh,, G15v2 looks far better than a standard Lycosa tbh...Broodbeleg wrote:

The mirror edition looks pretty cool but if it (as mentioned) is a pos then meh...

Lycosa Mirror = phail, 2 friends own them, both hate it, both broken within 3 weeks
Normal Lycosa = Fine but pricey, it's a decent gaming keyboard which looks good, doesn't seem to have the mirrors instant fall apart feature.
Razer Tarantula = Best built keyboard evar tbh /BiasAsIOwnOne. But really, it looks teh sexeh and it's built like a tank compared to anything else, and I mean anything (keyboard wise, before the mass of actual tanks starts getting posted).
I'd get a G15 over a Lycosa Mirror for deffinate, I'd more than likely get a G15 over the standard Lycosa too, I'd have a Tarantula over all of them though. And yes I have used them all.

Got one new Logitech UltraX Flat Premium waiting for current one to suffer something..
15€ because I can get them in OEM package. I wouldn't risk any more getting spilled with beer etc. Besides once you go flat, you can't go back lol...

I've allways thought the Tarantula looks more like a desk than a keyboard... lol...TheEternalPessimist wrote:

While talking rediculously priced keyboards like the Lycosa.. I'd love a prototype specced Optimus Maximus (you know, where the keys are full LCD's rather than the production versions tiny LCDs in glass keys)

It is pretty huge I have to admit lol, people always want it when they see it though, that pulsating blue Razer logo just does things to people, the same cant be said for my mates Lycosas with the half attached return key and floppy space bar and the random letters that stop working, and the fact one of them randomly decides to turn the volume up to maximum every now and again because the touch membrane on the media keys is shagged
Can't beat the build quality too, cost me a fortune so I wanted something that's going to last a very long time.

Meh, I have never experienced a keyboard failure in my life...TheEternalPessimist wrote:

I tend to replace keyboards when the keys have worn down, I'll just get some replacement keys for this one It'll take me about 8 years to make it cost effective but, it's the first keyboard I've used that I've thought could last that long.
It's always going to just be an unnecessary extravagance, no-one can say it's a sensible purchase, half the value is in the shiny lights ffs but, there's a difference between being value for money and being worth the cost, the huge price is easily worth it for the the jealousy that comes over anyone who uses my computer.
EDIT: Whoops I got it into my head this was the open thread, I'll shut up now

Well, I have a Razer Arctosa, which is the un-backlit version (miles cheaper) and it's a solid keyboard...only downside is having no backlighting
But I get by.
But I get by.
My mic on my Tritton AX51's broke after a few great years so I got:
Tritton AX51 Pro 5.1 Surround Sound Gaming Headphones
ASUS Xonar D1 7.1 Channel PCI Low Profile Sound Card
Mod Smart Power Supply ATX Removal Tool for Removing 24 Pin ATX Connector Pins for PSU Sleeving

Just ordered a Nexus One
I'm actually about to explode
Got a 17" Dell montior off of the missus for free, using a second display now
Heh, you beat me to it by six hours. My girlfriend is apprehensive about on-screen keyboards, so we got just one for now, which she'll use to decide whether she wants a Nexus One or a phone with a physical keyboard. It'll be awesome.james@alienware wrote:
