It's a bit smaller than the G15 so it's gonna take a little bit getting used to, but so far I like it.
Worst decision of your life.

I hate mine with a passion. Mines not even the mirror edition and it never looks good, audio ports sound like shit, etc etc.

Return that shit tbh.
No audio ports or USB on this one, this is the Arctosa, not Lycosa, cheaper simplified version.

Looks good enough IMO, and I find that I can type faster on it than my G15.

Went and picked up a pair of beautiful Tandbergs, a little (cheap) Sharp integrated amp and a huge Luxor 18WPC receiver for free today

The Tandbergs and the Sharp that's been driving them:

https://i205.photobucket.com/albums/bb8/Freezer7Pro/TANDBERGAROCHFRSTRKARE.jpg
I love Tandberg speakers, and I actually have two pairs of this model now. Gotta come up with a use for them. Perhaps I should try to find a quad receiver.

The huge Luxor receiver:

https://i205.photobucket.com/albums/bb8/Freezer7Pro/LUXORN.jpg
I think it's going into my bedroom setup, as my current receiver there has one volume control slider per channel, and they're hellish to set. With a stepsister in the other room that doesn't appreciate me blasting Mozart at night time, that can be quite the bother
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

Heh, do you have it already, or is it just ordered at the moment? Looks like a nice upgrade. Wonder how much it will improve the sound..

On the topic of improving the sound, I'm still waiting for the frkn people at AudiophileProducts to make and send me instructions on how to roll my DAC's OpAmp

TBH I don't expect I'll hear any improvement but the supplied PSU was crap. Opened it and the components like that usually cause crap to start poring out of the powered device if its not in use for longer periods.

How is your chip seated? Is it like the mouse trap when you open it, take the cheese out, put a new cheese in and close it and its ready for use or do you have to solder to remove it? (sorry for a poor mouse trap & cheese example but don't remember how that thing is called, retention socket maybe?)

Mm ok lol. I assumed there might be an improvement, based on the website's description A better PSU never hurt anyone ay

No solder or any of that funny business My problem is that I don't know how to open the friggin DAC... since it's a 2009 model. With the older ones, you un-screwed the two top screws at each end and were able to lift the top of the DAC off. But the body has been changed - it looks to be one solid piece of aluminum. I don't know what to unscrew... and I don't want to mess around, cause if I fuck something up...

That being said, I never actually just took off the top screws.. I think I might go try that XD

Yeah, that did fuck all.

I don't like my hand dragging.

Is the mousewheel fucking impossible to press down for you, or is mine fucked up?

Hmm well, it's ok for me. But it's certainly alot harder to push down than any other mouse I have had before. It feels more solid to me though in that sense.

Wow, it's back in the box now. Played an hour or so of gaming -- very nice for that. However, I do a LOT of middle clicking (web developer, you see) and that simply wasn't going to fly for me. Gonna go trade it for what my second choice was: http://www.michaelaulia.com/blogs/steel … eview.html

;( It took me a few days to get used to it, but not I can't use any other mouse. I like the looks of that Steel Series, I gotta say, they package their stuff nice, my headset came in the same package too.

Goodluck with the new mouse! buy me a mouse pad while you're at it!

If you wan't a light mouse you should go with Razer. Some models even have internal memory and all your settings are stored there which comes in handy when using same mouse with more PCs.

The G9 already did that.  It won't let you customise on another computer though (only on one at a time), but that shouldn't be a problem as I doubt you'd switch computers and suddenly need to alter your profiles.

he speaks the truth... My last mouse before this one was a mx1000, so getting used to how low profile this one is compaired to that took some time.

Yeah absolutely, i wondered if i'd made the wrong decision once i got it out of the box too, it was just mahusive! I switched out the grips and it just felt right, i had an MX1000 before also

What kind of settings do people use for their G9? My mates played BF2 on mine at the weekend and they said it was near impossible for them to play on my settings.
