Sydney, will you post a review after you've had it awhile?
Will do.

What I can already say is that it has a very audible fan inside But that doesn't really matter, since I'll only turn it on when I'm actually watching something off it.

It's limited to USB speed, but I think there's a eSATA version of it out there.

Also, it looks absolutely awesome.

nice finish.

I'm assuming the knobs on it have that really nice turning feeling, not easy to turn, but they feel like they have a bit of resistance.

Knobs? You mean the knob

And yeah, it's nice. The kind where you turn it for a little bit, and then it goes click.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

Some coke found its way on the numpad of my vanilla ultrax flat premium and a month (and several cleanings) later the numpad is starting to be like slo-mo so...

Logitech UltraX Flat Premium BE

https://www.prodaja-ponuda.com/slike/male/Tipkovnica%20Logitech%20ULTRAX%20premium.jpg

19.90€ keyboard, because the likelyhood of accident repeating itself in form of drunk, beer + keyboard is high.

e: went with the vanilla again because its in stock, BE wasn't....

banish it to the dishwasher, then let it dry for 3 days at least

Will try that if I feel like messing with it. Not really need for it tho now that I get new one because they are damn cheap. Just need to be more careful with drinks this time.

$359.99 + $38.70 tax = $398.69

Base sale price: $449.99
HP EPP discount of $60 off
HP Coupon code for $30 off
Didn't try using 25% BING discount.

Very nice, I'd prolly just build my own though. What are the advantages when getting a prebuild besides HP's support?

I've been wanting one of these since forever, since I've got media files all over the place.

Big selling points for me:
- PC image backups
- automated incremental backups
- remote media access
- ease of use
- 1W sleep mode
- HP Proprietary apps that won't work with other OEM WHS setups, like Media Collector.

I'll be frequenting this place (http://www.mediasmartserver.net) to see what I can do with this beast.  Expecting it delivered Monday.

Well tbh everything you listed can be had on a custom built PC except for the last thing, HP Proprietary apps

Yeah, but factoring cost, build time, and labor to get all the hardware/software, hard to beat $400.  Besides, I'm too lazy to spend the time.

Also, I hear good things about HP's Media Collector.
