How should I try to land?

Last year, my dad bought a second house in the 'burbs to rent out, but it had hideous Christmas lighting that didn't work(broken bulbs, etc)

So I volunteered to head up and pull em down.

Looking down from up there, twas pretty high, but I got it done, relatively unscaved(couple scratches on me tummy from the shingles)

Today, dad had to go fix something in the house, and I decided to tag along.
Then I remembered the day,
So that got me to thinking,
If I WERE to fall off the second floor roof(30? Ft) what would be the best way to try to land?

I would assume on your feet, cuz if anything, the bones(should?) heal.

On your back, you could mess up your spine.

Anyways.

Discuss.

Just start running really fast as soon as you hit the ground.

Lulzage.

Lemme clarify,

I trip and fall off the building(assume that I have enough time to react and change my position)

So getting a running start wouldn't work too well.
And trying to roll from a vertical drop.... meh, probably not the best idea, considering the risk of bashing teh head.

you will have to have some forward momentum, or you wouldn't have fallen in the first place, but the same technique still applies, let your legs absorb some of the force, then fall forward and roll to dissipate the rest.

Head first. Your neck will break the fall.

Well that'd be the most painless way.

Any others that don't involve dying?

Puss

lol

I jumped from a 10 foot fence last thanksgiving and my ankle is still screwed up (bruised the crap out of my heel as well). Your looking at 20 feet so you probably don't want any advice from me.

Ahh I see.. the general rule is 10 feet per floor. That's office buildings though.

I survived 15 uninjured, but I had a running start.

I'm not planning on falling off a roof (?) but IF I were to accidentally fall(Assuming I have enough time to react)

you wont, you'd hit the ground in less than a second

I'd duck tape some of that NASA foam around me before I went up.

Actually, breaking your neck would be the least painless.

Well I'm pretty sure that duck taping a posture-pedic mattress would actually hurt me more than save,m it brings the fall chance up from 75% to 110%, and I doubt it'll help too much

What's the possibility of you laying about 15 of those mattresses on the ground around the "fall zone"? (lolz)

What's the possibility of you giving me 10K Dollaz so i can purchase the mattresses to lay on the ground around the "fall zone"?

according to quantum theory, the chance is non-zero

but i calculate it to be fairly low

Your in Canada? You would have better chances waiting for 10 feet of snow to come in. That should lessen the impact. Eh?

Vancouver > Little - No snow

Last year(not the season that passed, before)
We got ~2-3 feet of snow in the burbs, pretty much none downtown
This season, we got mbe 3-4 inches downtown, and I'm not sure about the burbs(I moved last summer)
