So, we have a little over a month until the release of MGS4. I think it deserves this topic, agree?
I've been playing the MGO beta a lot, but I've never played Snake yet on the sneakout mission

The beta is good.  It's not CoD4 amazing but it's good for the type of game it is.
Theres a few problems here and there though...

You know what. After GTA 4. Every game looks pretty shit. Every game. Nothing can match what the Euphoria engine does. The Pre-canned animations in ALL games just look shit nowadays. That includes MGS. I wish MGS had more realistic animation/movement/physics. It's pretty sub par from watching the gameplay videos, infact, it's exactly the same from previous MGS games

I dunno, from what I've seen there's a load of cool new movements, ways to do things, animation is better than the previous games, prime example is when he reloads the M4. Graphically and in realistic representation, MGS4 is quite possibly the best there currently is, and story wise it just blows everything else out the water.

I pre-ordered the special edition version.... and I don't even have a PS3

I sold my MGO beta key on eBay for like $8. I thought for sure I'd get more, but I guess there aren't many hardcore fans out there. And now that I think about it, I probably should've ordered two special editions, keep one for when I eventually get a PS3 and sell the other.

I remember when the limited edition Snake Eater and Subsistence came out I bought it on eBay for $150. Total ripoff, but I wasn't able to pre-order (Oh yeah and I already had the original Snake Eater to begin with).


Needless to say I'm a huge fan (though not a Kojima-phile in the least bit). I'm kind of holding off on a PS3, though. The only games I want for it are MGS4 and GTA4, so I'm trying to wait as long as possible for the price to drop and for games to go Greatest Hits or whatever.

This game looks so amazing, though, and I want to play it as soon as it comes out... maybe I'll have to find someone who'll let me stay over 24/7 and play theirs. However, I'm having second thoughts about MGO. I played it literally just two or three times on the Subsistence game and didn't really get into it. Then a year later when I want to go back to it, the fucking servers are shut down. Total bullshit.

Not that there aren't fans, just Konami had too many keys and were giving them out like crazy.

MGS is easy to get into, just play the games.  though i do think Kojima planned to make the story span over multiple games.  He basically wanted to make a movie.  Hell I think if Kojima made GTA, he would have done the same thing lol

But the current GTA cannot be compared to MGS since two different genres

r'Eeee, get the MGS: Limited Edition.  It has all three MGS games in one for ~$30 for the PS2. (if you have the right PS3) so you would know the story then play MGS4 (KojiPro did make MGS4 noob friendly by explaining the other games also in cutscenes)

I reckon itll help with some parts, first games probs best but the new one apparently explains everything and puts in all the misisng links. Then again I've had the first one for 10 years and only just found out what was going on lol. That was cos I watched the cutscenes though, they're long but really help explain the story.

For MGS and BF:BC, I'm getting both

Preordered MGS4 and BF:BF.
