Everest is reporting 16/21°C right now.

It's reporting it correctly according to everest and core temp.

My 8800GTX is idling at 38°C right now, overclocked on stock cooling.

And it's not G0, it's a E6600, B2 stepping.

Airflow ftw. My temps were much higher before I got this new 120mm intake fan.

Your temp recording softwares are fucked up. There is no way ur GTX idles at 37c overclocked. And your CPU defintaly doesn't idle at 16/21c

Yes way, I'm telling you, I put all my fans on low and now my temps with all the same programs are:

Core0: 33°C
Core1: 36°C
CPU: 58°C

It is for real, I put my GPU fan on 100% and I saw the temps go from 58°C to 37°C one degree at the time.

Link me to another temperature program, and I will print screen with the same results.

I'm 100% sure my temps are correct.

I think CPUs temp is lower than core temp.

try intel TAT. see what that tells you.

My 8800 idles at a constant 39 and I overclocked the shit out of it with stock fan. CPU idles at 27. It's all about airflow, not necessarily the software.

now that is more like it. ~40c on CPU. try load temos on the GTX.

Load temps on the GTX go up to 80 something with the case fans on minimum, goes to around 70 something with maximum airflow.

Exactly, my temps never went that low until I installed my intake fan.

Can't wait to get a HR-03 and have even lower temps for my GTX

The readings are correct, no doubt about that, cores did go under 20°C with maximum airflow idling, and the GTX did idle on 37.

And do remember that it's got a raised vcore, 1.42 instead of the standard 1.35, 1GHz overclock.

I might up the vcore a bit more and see how my temps are at 3.6 GHz, because then I'll have a 1:1 FSB to RAM ratio.

I say it again. I have NEVER seen 20c idle temps with ~20c ambient. the GFX idling at 38 is possbile with 100% fan speed.

in winter, my ambient temps were the same as my CPU idle temps.  ~32C.

but definitely not 20.

I guess everest lied about my GPU temp, rivatuner reports it as 45°C not 37°C.


Ambient temperature is about 18°C in my room I think.

Also keep in mind that the C2D's cool down very very quickly.
