List The Ten Best Movies To Come From Your Country

Basic rules would be that the cast and crew should be predominantly from your country or the story should be specific to your country or national identity even if it is set in another country, for example 'Saving Private Ryan' is not an Irish movie even though it was filmed in Ireland. Americans and French will have plenty to choose from here but I'll be interested to hear from the more obscure nations. Here's mine in no particular order (Ireland):

1. Adam & Paul - Lenny Abrahamson
2. I Went Down - Paddy Breathnach
3. On The Edge - John Carney
4. The General - John Boorman
5. In The Name Of The Father - Jim Sheridan
6. Garage - Lenny Abrahamson
7. In America - Jim Sheridan
8. The Wind That Shakes The Barley - Ken Loach
9. Bloody Sunday - Paul Greengrass
10. Michael Collins - Neil Jordan

I can think of 1 movie that is 100% Canadian. Everything and everyone in it is Canadian, I think. That movie is Fubar, and it is the funniest damn movie I have ever seen.

Amores Perros was a great movie. I quite liked Y Tu Mama Tambien too and of course the King of weird, Jodorowsky, is Mexican (isn't he?).

That Fucking Åmål film was popular because it had 2 scenes where 2 main character where 2 girls and kissed each other. That's it of the movie. Yeah Ondskan is swedish and think that one is the only one getting on the top ten on my list. The rest meh screw them.
