I didn't think mousepads mattered but then my friend got me the Razer ExactMat and it makes a huge difference. I can move the mouse faster. Big improvement in IO.

I have an eXactMat and I love it.  I woulda gone for the bigger mantis but i needed something that had a hard center because my desk is small and thus it hangs off the edge.

I got this hard plated one for $20 and never looked back...I use a laptop so I might be on the couch while playing BF2, so having a hard flat surface to use the mouse with is amazing.

I got an Alienware one free with my laptop, and I after never using one before, it really helps.

It's SO much smoother to use, and you use less effort to move the mouse.

A must, in my opinion. I never knew I was missing out so much before I started using one.

to support panzerfin in his cqk steelpad, they are absolutely amazing.
i started out with having one of the steel and one of the glass steel pads (worked great with teflon feet) but i have since moved on to the model shown by panzerfin, so i thought of finding some different sizes of the steel pad and to be honest you should not be worried about the price

I absolutely found the money to be worth it.

but to give you a idea of the sizes i found a image of it

and a good review and description in the end too.

all the same website but what they say is true, defiently the sleekest and most efficient mousepad on the market especially since it's cheap, light weight, and is foldable so that it can always fit onto your lab on the couch (if needed) or if the desk is full just take the edge and put over the stuff that is in the way and use the rest of the pad.

hope that i convinced you, you may make your own opinion but it is a excellent company and product even though it may look cheap and therefore not highquality all of my mousepads from this company have never broken and i got some of their first product like the icemat and steelmat on the day of release and they have all been used heavily and have never failed me.

So yeah... Simple enough question.

Just got a new desk and I have enough space for a decent mousepad, but I am unsure if I should get one at all.

Do they make that much of a difference while playing? Or just using your mouse normally?
I have a G7 currently on wood. Never had a mouse pad since I moved to laser.

Anybody going to persuade me on getting one?
A good mouse 'mat' is going to make the sensitive feet of your $70 gamer mouse last a bit longer than the chunk of felt-worn sticky rubber that passes as my mouse pad. Then again, I'm for $10-$20 MS Intellimice.
