Ok, you've destroyed one tank. Surely they will change their course of action.
And the army has a fair amount of equipment.
If they only wanted to get rid of the resistance in an are, but it was blocked by roadside bombs they wouldn't necessarily have to get in.
Three words come to mind: siege, artillery, aircraft
now heres where the "you never know" type stuff comes into play.
would they bomb every bit of resistance?
i dont see how they could...that would inspire more people to fight, and on top of that, what would be left after they were done.
as far as aircrafts go.....well, they have to land sometime, and there can only be so many people protecting one airbase. if the thermite does that to armor, imagine what it would do to an airplane (after access to the airfield was gained).
also, we have access to a rifle that is accurate to 2500 yards, more than enough to disable jet engines.
beyond that, i honestly dont know....but someone will.
it would only be a matter of time until someone figured out how to counter those threats.....now how much time is the question.
thats why this falls in the "you never know" category.
though i do feel strongly that those ideas would work.
