Border security is the one issue I can say that I disagree with all the major candidates on. I actually agree more with Duncan Hunter and Tom Tancredo on that particular issue. Lou Dobbs also makes some good points.Deadmonkiefart wrote:

Border Security #1 problem. LOL.
-It's the one issue that has an obvious solution and that can be dealt with
-It is the issue that would have the most extreme and immediate impact on the area where I live, possibly on the entire country

Whoever gets elected will be blamed for the shitty economy inherited from the Bush administration and therefore will not be reelected in 2012.

Hillary doesn't care about how we feel. She is the inevitable candidate. It is her destiny to lead us. All Hail Hillbill.
hopeless.
i think people from other countries should be allowed to vote in this poll, becasue who becomes president will affect them as well
Yeah, lets shoot the messengers that "the economy sucks".Deadmonkiefart wrote:

Illegals find great work in the USA because of:
- Little/no meaningful industry oversight (meat packing, agriculture, etc.)
- Tanking economy, forcing everyone into "cash-only" mode, meaning Mexicans are just as easy as anyone else to hire and to put up as tenants.
- Crappy trade agreements (like NAFTA) written by industry hacks that allowed for free market goods without any binding multi-national labor regulations, which drives down American wages to the point where they don't want to work for "Mexican prices".
You want to keep them from hopping the border? Take away their "enablers". Increased security will be just like the war on drugs, it'll just fill up the prisons faster and suck down more tax dollars we don't have.
I'd say Obama and Hillary are right on target in these areas, that will address the real underlying issues with illegal immigration in a sane way. Of course they'll fuck it up like any politician, but at least they'll hit a little closer to a real solution.

Also I think I speak on behalf on the human species when I say I'm optimistic as long as the president isn't Bush.
I've never looked toward the government nor the president for my personal well being. I haven't looked in the past and I am not looking now. It has always been up to me...
I think my concern over who's the president or who's in control of the government could be stated in this way: they can't really muck it up that bad for me in my tiny sphere/microcosm of reality - but they could for you if you're buying into this shit (political, political pandering, etc), so I am worried for you and how you feel if you're looking towards the government/presidency to ensure your personal well being.
