Well, now youtube put a watch the video in higher quality option. it's only available for newer videos though. not sure when it came here. check this out. (couldn't find any other video.)

imho, i don't notice too much a difference.

I think it's for more well known uploaders.

Just look at EA's BF2142 intro.

No there's like an option for the HD. it may be optional when you upload or something not sure..

They allow 1 GB now, but they still need to fix their resolutions. I remember back in the day you could apply for a "Director Account" and actually get benefits from it, like better-looking videos. Nowadays, anyone can be a "director" and there aren't any benefits to it. The extra space doesn't count for much, I'd still like to see better resolutions up there. I've seen some older videos on YouTube that look absolutely amazing because the person had a director's account.
