Ok, yes, somewhat. The bullet is still going to be falling at close to the speed at which it was fired at, maybe about half the speed, yet still fast enough to cause serious damage.Bertster7 wrote:
It wouldn't. An arrow from a longbow would go straight through kevlar with no problem at all. It's a completely different type of impact.Mek-Izzle wrote:
Shit, reminded me of that scene in 300 where the Persians do a huge volley from like, thousands of men armed with bows. They used shields in the film, not sure how Kevlar would respond to that.jimmanycricket wrote:
Screw 1775, the medieval Britain could have wiped out 100 modern marines. Longbows + Cavalry = win
If they rushed with 1000 odd cavalry they would win straight off.No, he isn't. The speed it goes up at bears little relation to the speed it comes down at. When it gets as high as it is going it will essentially be a body falling from rest quite high up. Due to the smallness it will have low air resistance and therefore have a high terminal velocity, so it's going to fall quickly. But the differences in applied forces mean that the 2 speeds are only related by the air resistance of the body.jason85 wrote:
You are correct, sir.argo4 wrote:

Well obviously.henno13 wrote:
if the marines had Laser Guided Bombs and A10 Airstrikes they kick their ass

A few GAU-12, rockets and free fall bomb runs and I don't think there would be a large number left.ShowMeTheMonkey wrote:
Wait a sec. This is idiotic even if they had A10s and stuff they could not win, mostly because of sheer numbers! Look at how many millions of UK and Commonwealth soldiers!
A formation flight of A-10's doesn't need a huge amount of ammunition. 30mm DU rounds will kill a good deal of guys per hit. 500/1000LB bombs will take out very large numbers as well. Rocket fire the same. It won't be a case of one shot one kill, it'd be one shot, several hundred kills. Considering a single A-10 packs 1174 DU rounds and up to 16,000lb of explosives. You could use cluster munitions as well, or FA explosives and wipe out droves of them.ShowMeTheMonkey wrote:
From a million? I'm sorry it doesn't have that much ammo.
