This is the final release of my sniper movie 'Silver & Cold'.

It covers Sharqi, Strike at Karkand and Jalalabad, along with exerts from Daqing and Gulf of Oman. Most of the footage is from Candy's infantry server, which has an excellent map rotation. Took me about 3 days to collect the footage, I didn't want to make this a huge project spanning months, and another 2 to edit it. It is based around the song, as you will see I cut the footage to keep the whole thing fast paced in time with the track.

Quick shots are cool, but it's still very difficult for beginners. Don't mess with it, just use the classic sniping if you're new to this --> Use your time, aim for head, and take him down.

I gave up sniping because I could never use it as well as other guns. People always say that there's a lot to "learn" but I can never see exactly what they're telling others to "learn". Usually I just wait for the target to stop moving, hit him in the head, or get him in the torso and finish him off with the pistol. In short, this vid is exactly everything that I can't do.
Any tips for better shots?

*Also, how does bullet drop work with snipers?

Speed and consistency in shot making is key to sniping efficiently. The 'learning' bit comes into play with more advanced shots like dragshots and snapshots, being able to predict head height on buildings/doors/when coming round corners means your more likely to be ready to take the shot, rather than what most people do, which is panic.

I've taught a couple of people how to snipe better in my time on BF2, it's incredibly hard to explain to you on here, but its basically practice, learning from videos/other people you know etc...picking up your weaknesses and making them into strengths.

The biggest bit that people need to learn on BF2 is situational awareness, most people aren't aware of the wider tactical picture on BF2, so they don't know when to stop someone flanking them etc...they are blinkered to whats going on. As a sniper you need to be both accurate with your weapon and incredibly aware of longer range targets (i.e. snipers) who could pose a risk to you long before you get to that spot. Thats why I'm squadleader practically all the time in my movies, I find it easy to work out where to go, when to be aggressive and when to be defensive in my sniping. I also have to look after my squad and tell them what I see, whats going on etc...

Bullet drop works exactly how you say, it drops lol, again that takes practice and building up a reflex so you know the drop at distance. Practice is a recurring theme in sniping, which is why most people don't snipe well, they can't be bothered to practice at it.

How did you get 491 points on 1 round of Karkand? Knife and pistol server? Your accuracy for the sniper rifle is only like 43%. I thought that was interesting considering the kills you show in the video.

I don't think this would be especially difficult if it was a 64-sized map and the server was nearly empty. Plus, the OP is a decent sniper, so if the other players weren't very good I think it would be pretty manageable.

lol go to karkaland map 64 players map and trye to find server where is only like 12 players then just start at medic and u can have very big points

I have an idea, because there is a slight chance this guy has statspadded/played knife pistol we will post about that and not the video which the thread was about, I mean after all if you stats pad there is no possible way that you could create any decent video EVER and obviously makes rating their video pointless, instead we should all just post that this guy is a stats padder and there is a chance that a number on this guy's stats wasn't totally 100% RoE legally obtained.

No I did not pad it, and in actually fact, I knew that if you went over 500 BR (which is ROE) you had the possibility of getting reset, so I actually STOPPED playing at that point. I have no reason to justify myself to you.

You are clearly an idiot, looking at that statement. Lets start off, firstly if you'd have a brain attached to those fingers of yours you might have put some thought into this before writing it. I've been playing sniper for near on 550 hrs? Something like that, rifle something over 400 hours. Thats an awful lot of shots fired isn't it.....so I reakon I actually started to get good with sniper about March last year...half way through the time I've been on BF2.....I've got about 10000 kills since then. Which is about half my rifle kills. So thinking logically, my accuracy would have be lower at that point due to my poorer sniping abilities, now I hit more the accuracy is going up, if I'm right, as it was at 42% a couple of months ago. As I've fired so many shots already it takes ages to go up, just like a K/D ratio.

And what are you suggesting? It's interesting that my rifle accuracy is 43% yet I can do those sort of kills in my video? SO???? What do you conclude professor????

Wow, you guys do get riled, haha. I actually wasn't really insinuating anything, I just hadn't seen a BR of 491 before and I was just legitimately curious as to how you achieved it. Then as far as the accuracy goes, your explanation doesn't make any sense unless you REALLY sucked for a long time. I mean I only have about 2400 kills with the Sniper rifle but yet my accuracy is even better than yours (44%) and you're supposed to be an uber-sniper, right? I KNOW I'm not a great sniper. I rarely play it, so I just thought it was interesting that your accuracy was that low seeing as how much you play it. That's all that I thought was interesting. I mean you make a video and you're going to open yourself up for criticism, that's all. No big deal, is it?

I see that you have a lot of hours as sniper, but if I'm able to get an accuracy of 44% on just 2400 kills, by your reasoning, if I played sniper enough to get as much experience as you, I should have a much better accuracy by that point. That's all I found interesting. I'm not quite sure why you are getting so worked up though seeing as how you shouldn't have anything to hide anyway, right?

I said your video was nice. I think I liked your first one better though. I liked the fast motion more when you had the streaks. The quick shots go by too fast and the only reason I could tell you even killed someone was your orange kill tag. Maybe it would look better if Stage6 was still available.

Anyway, take it easy.

EDIT: Actually I just looked at your stats some more and your accuracy has actually got worse every single month for about the past year. You actually had a higher accuracy with the sniper rifle about a year ago. So your explanation of getting better with more experience just went out the window. A year ago you were at 47%, now you're at 43%. Again, I just find it interesting, that's all.
