Ummm....yeah, that actually happened to me more than once back when I played.  Part of the problem was that every artillery strike launched when I was in a game had it's first shell land directly on me.

I wouldn't take it personally. I dunno, I've had stages a while bk ( I don't play vehicles that much now, and if I do I'm in a tank/jet/heli ) but the whole hit by the first arty shell in a tank does get me. Usually if I'm infantry and I'm near a flag I actually hear the arty before it arrives and get away, knowing as we are capping it might be on me. It depends on how good the commander is at knowing the arty spread, how fast you are at reacting and to some extent, blind luck.

Maybe you carry one of the arty magnets in your combat trouser pockets? Take it out then you'll be hassle free

that happened to me once when i had the medic heal glitch

i was like woohoo, insta heal! you shoot me bitch i just heal

then arty strike killed me

Most of the times I ranked up, it was delayed, I would get the points, andnothing happened.  Then, as I was running along, it would pop up.

Because of that, I ranked up to Colonel by dieing, apparantly

Sure but how lucky can i be that the very first arty shell did hit me?

If arties dropped on me even if Im in a tank its pretty much guaranteed Ill be respawning.

I got my current rank by strapping C4 to the front of an F-35 and ramming it into a bunch of J-10 whores at the start of a round of Wake. Wish I'd recorded it.
