Our lacrosse team's field has about 6-10 inches of snow on it (its larger than a football field) and we (at the moment) cannot get an indoor facility due to us being a club sport not affiliated with the school and other gyms and such booked up with basketball and baseball and volleyball. Anyone got any SERIOUS suggestions on a way to clear the snow off the field?

I've been trying to get people to do a type of 'team shovel' I proposed that we shoveled yesterday, today, and tommarow since those 3 practices have been canceled instead of just sitting around doing nothing, and I couldn't get more than 15 guys to agree to help out.clogar wrote:

what surface is it? real grass, or astroturf?

well, you could if you have access 4x4 or 4x4s of some sort, then get a half gallon drum thats been cut in half and used as a BBQ, tie it the back of the 4x4 and drag the snow of that way, just a an idea dont know if it will work but good luck
Just wait for the snow to melt.
Push snow blowers. There really is nothing else. Black tarps covering the field would melt the snow, but not as much as you say you have there.
I can't wait for the lacrosse season to start! We have the same problem with the snow but at least we can use a school gym. All i can suggest is to get a parking lot that you can use and start playing there. Any playtime is good playtime.
why not just plow it?Locoloki wrote:

It always seems to not work as well when its cold out. Sometimes it doesn't even burst.Kmarion wrote:

A few buddies and I started playing lacrosse about 3 weeks ago. Only one of us has ever played organized, but it's pretty fun to screw around. We want to play in a rec league, but I don't think there is one locally.
Oh, the advantages of being in New YorkKEN-JENNINGS wrote:

Learn to build a fire on top of snow and build a few small ones to help melt it as you shovel it.
