I don't know if there's another thread about this here goes, admin can delete this soon as I get sum helpfull feedback.

Now, I got Spec forces today it installed fine and plays single-player fine also. HOWEVER I can't get it to allow me onto any servers. It loads the map, then the client data, then when it shows the join game option it crashes to the desktop

I've sent a e-mail to EA tech. support but I'm thinkin you guys will reply quicker (either with a complaint of a silly post or possibly sum helpful info )

Do I need to install the 1.12 patch again?

disable any background programs that are running and make sure you are up to date with your video card drivers

yes, you need to reinstall the patch.

although, to be honest, i don't think thats the problem.  if you havent reinstalled it yet, the game won't even let you connect to servers.  your problem seems to be different.  reinstall the patch, then do what IBKCKNURASS said.

Ahh cheers, I'm gonna see wat EA say but I'm also downloadin the patch again too. Can't hurt to try puttin a patch in again.
Though with background programmes with me there are virtually none. Its jus BF2, the basics (systray, anti-virus etc) and maybe Xfire and they have never caused any probs with BF2 in the past at all.

Yup, had exactly this problem too... eneded up reinstalling BF2 fresh and everything worked fine after that.
