What about some new planes. I'd like to have the B-2 or the F-117 in the game.

they'd be insane on night maps, but they're not very practical.
it's not like the enemy has radar that needs to be avoided (yeah, i know about the scan and UAV, but those are useless against planes). the b-2 is strictly a bomber and would be very, very easy for a fighter plane to shoot down. the f-117 isn't the most agile plane either...nor is it the fastest...again, i doubt it would put up much of a fight against a mig or j-10

I bet you watched Discovery channel today,, I watched it too when someone came too fix the dishwasher (or how it's called in english.
Ok, so first post. How about a little bit of the old war horses to rip up the battlefield. I'm talking low-flying, down in it type aircraft. Highly manuverable with big loads. You can compensate the loads by making repair and re-armament times higher - just add the ability to destroy/fix runways to the game. Engineers fix, while bombers can destroy. No re-supply unless the runway is repaired.
So, here are the planes:
U.S. - A-10 Thunderbolt II
Russia, China, and other easten(former block) countries - SU-25 Frogfoot
United Kingdom - Panavia TORNADO
Middle East - Dassault MIRAGE or RAFALE
You could also throw the Osprey Tilt Rotor aircraft in there as well. It would be one heck of a troop carrier, and runs a fair ratio as far as moving bodies. Sure you can get them around quicker, but they would also provide a big target if you down one full of troops. Fly to the drop zone, hover, and parachute in by the masses.

Why does everyone want the Osprey? Yeah it's a cool idea for a plane, but it's done horribly on tests. Crashed more times than I can count.
NO PLANES IN SF!
I hate planes, they suck. SF is really cool because there are no planes. Choppers are easy to take out, just be anti tank, get a rocket, and boom boom boom.

And why not import Hydrogen bombs aswell along with the planes so you can bomb the whole freaking map to dust. To bad about the complete killing of your own team and a monster minus score though, don't forget that most servers kick after 5 teamkills. ^^masterHouse wrote:

I can already see the commander freaking out and yelling to his squads:
"Move ! thermonuclear explosion your area !"
The mushroom cloud was 8 miles across and 27 miles high. The canopy was 100 miles wide. Radioactive mud fell out of the sky followed by heavy rain. 80 million tons of earth was vaporised.
P.s: 100 miles diameter should be enough to cover any 64 players map :ppp

but with teh way EA would code it is if you are behind a wall from the explosion it wouldnt hurt you. they are good like that.
i agree, planes are stupidy overpowered and have no place in SF, infantry combat is where it is at.FromTheAshes wrote:

I don't like Planes for the sole reason that I can't fly them. I could fly the BF1942 ones no sweat, in fact I was good, but Jets just arn't my bag. Planes are a good part in BF2, I'm glad they're not in SF. I'm not bitter against planes because I can't fly, it's just why would Special Forces units need planes?

as a plane lover I think this would be awesome, and wish they make more maps, that is , maps that are more air than ground warfare, they need to make huge maps , bigger than 64's to compesate for all the planes though, but yea the F-117 nighthawk would be an awesome thing to fly or perhaps the SR71,( though it is out of date and not flown anymore) also i wish they make it so the F/A 18 hornet only took off from aircraft carriors instead of ground base strips , i mean come on, thats not how they take off, perhaps in place of the F-35, GOD the possibilities are endless, id better stop lol
I whant ot see the B-52 stratofortress BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!
yea that would be sweet but do you know how long of a runway that would take lol , but yes for my earlier coment this would be cool
Have you guys ever played Desert Combat for Bf 1942? They have tons of different planes (A-10, F-14, F-15 TF, F-16 AF, AC-130 Gunship, F-117, Mig29, Su-25, Mirage . They got a huge air map with air flags. Pretty much you have to be pro to be good in a jet . The jets include radar, but the heat seakin missles don't seek, you have to aim them and then shoot (kind of like a helo missle) Helo's are also really hard to control too.
although in DC there are all these, it would still be much better in the new BF, graphics, more realisim, just better all around

So what, in the game have the special forces, tanks and choppers, but in the real world the don't. So why no planes but well armour and choppers. EA want's a realistic game, SO WHY?-|V2^Fraggus wrote:
