And looks nothing like a B-1.

Let's try the U variant, then.

Looks like an F22 if you change the wing shape a tad.

So what's the deal with F22s and F35s. Are they really as radar invisible and versatile as they're hailed to be? Could you fly an F22 supersonically over North Korea and give 'em the middle finger without being seen on radar screens?

How about B2s and F117s? Obviously you guys aren't top-secret clearance and know just how good they are but I'm sure you military guys might have some more insight.

B-1Bs are coated with radar absorbent material which is invariably black or gray, like a B-2, F-22 and F-117.

About the flying over NK part? How about an F117 or a B2 Spirit? And the F35? F117s flew over Baghdad without so much as being hit once or detected whilst dropping thousands of pounds of bombs.

Were their radars utter crap or is their stealth really that amazing?

Stealth just makes it easier to slip between the gaps in the radar net, but it doesn't make you invisible, it just reduces your profile to something smaller, like a bird. Plus, for something like a B-2, as soon as you open the bay doors you're the size of a BUFF on radar.

Radar can pick up birds?

Some types of radar can, but I wouldn't have thought aircraft radar could..
Primary radar is pretty bad really, you get loads of clutter and you need ot tune it just right to pick up anything useful. If something's trying to not be seen, you'd need some mad skills to spot it.

Everything returns radar energy to some level. Depends on shape, material, etc. Shape stays fairly constant, but materials vary with frequency.

Then the B2 Spirit with it's bird-sized radar signature is in the clear I'd assume. Otherwise I'd imagine the radar would have to be programmed to sort through the signatures and only display certain types. For example, it wouldn't display a slow-moving bird signature but if the bird-sized object was flying past "X" speed the radar would display that?
